I hate the form ben hunt is in at the moment. He had an injury recently and returned two weeks early. Its too soon for me to call him past it.

I guess in defense of the club, both pezet and duffy have not really shown that they can lead a team week in week out in the HB role. At the right price we have legendary rep halfback for them to learn from.. and hes someone decent to fall back on if shit goes south like the last time we signed a storm halfback.

In 2021 I would have taken a 37 year old hunt at HB in a heartbeat!

Have Scanalan along with DD & MM identified options? Far out, that position has been vacant for months and there are no updates on it.

Also, there has to be an inquiry as to why our squad beyond our 30 signed players are falling like flies? The conditioning department needs to be closely looked at too.

Wow! Ballin’s not a right candidate for the role so it seems. If we’re waiting for the end of the season to reassess then, I’m afraid that we may not have any options left but to continue the same horrendous setup for next year too.

I'll give the club some leeway on the assistant coach. Unless you're promoting from within, it would be extremely difficult to expect to poach an assistant from another club mid-season. End of the season, before pre-season you may be able to get someone out of a contract, to give that other club a chance to find a replacement, but needing one mid season I think we clearly just decided to work with what we had. Right or wrong that decision was is another debate, but I don't think it was that easy to just get another good assistant in with not much notice.

Te'o also did all three- edge, ruck/middle and wrestle/contact. A lot of clubs have three people doing those three roles. Add in blue shirt which he was very good at and that's four things that need replacing.

You're not getting four coaches mid season.
