Everyone knows when you love where you work, you put in that bit extra. In high performance sport, that bit extra can be the difference between a win and a loss. This could be an absolute fucking masterstroke.
Welcome home, Ben. You had to leave, I understand, but I'm glad you're home...
Watch the interview - the conversation was specifically about the assistant coaches at that point, hence the quote. Reyno said how much he's enjoyed working with all of them and that they are all very intelligent and have each brought something new etc etc.
But that doesn't make sense either, because the Storm won't pay him that for a long-term deal with the young bloke coming through.
Yet it was on the table this time around and he turned it down. He's not likely to get a better deal than the one which was offered, in 12 months' time, from any...
Yep I still think young Jock can become a solid half. He's still a kid, give him a chance. Cleary and Katoa are not the norm. It will be interesting if he gets a run this year, to see if he plays differently under different coaching.
The more I read the more I like. The mental game has not been this club's strong point for a long time, turning that around will be key to getting the most out of the group. Last year they seemed to be mentally tough but this year it was back to usual programming. I hope to see a big change...
Hopefully a very stiff wake up call before it was too late. Both the incident and continuing on the path he was on may have ended a lot worse than this.
I think many of our players are screaming out for that environment, those systems and those tools. There will be exceptions of course and that is what it is, but generally you don't get to the NRL without being one competitive MF'er and wanting to reach the pinnacle ie a premiership.
I'm excited.
Many of the old boys actually won the comp, so there's that of course. They also of course have the right to their opinion, but whether that holds any weight is something totally different.
The current squad haven't won shit, and shouldn't act like they have.
Not if they're just going to...
With all due respect, the old boys need to look themselves in the fucking mirror as they are half the reason we're in this entire shit show.
I have loved this club since inception. I love the good men who have played for our enjoyment on our behalf. But these blokes white anted the **** out...
Exactly. Kev and Alf are from a long-gone era. Footy isn't like that anymore, sure the basics are the same but the sports science and sports psychology has come a fucking long way since they played. It's not the same, it's almost a different sport. This sort of attitude is exactly the reason...
Problem is though, it won't. How will said 'third party' representative be employed by the NRL (permanent position, contract, retainer?) and by whom inside the organisation? Of course there won't be any pressure applied by the NRL by, say, quietly threatening their contract won't be renewed if...
This can't come as a surprise to anyone, surely...
The more that happens, the more I like the direction the club is going. Kicking and screaming into the 2020's. About fucking time we stopped resting on the 00's, that was twenty fucking years ago. Big Dick Dave is swinging his member around...
