its really hard to tell with the style bulldogs play.... they don't exactly let their halves take too much control, they'd rather let their props be the ball players.
wow, that list really reinforces for me that we're quite shit at developing halves. Apart from a couple of all time greats coming through the club, the next tier down has been really pretty ordinary... maybe we need to fix that up as a long term strategy while we're dealing with finding a...
Like when alfie left in 1999... hang on we won the comp the next season. Get a grip, talent pops up all the time. I'm no hunt hater, but an opportunity has just arisen for someone to grab if they have the balls... lets see what happens next.
Really.... why should the Hunt haters hang their heads... pretty sure they have no say in contracts at Broncs.... maybe Bennett should hang his head if you're that pissed.... do you think he reads this forum and succumbed to all the peer pressure of a dozen posters on here. FMD... maybe in...
sorry, im no tech head so hope this works..... anyway fwiw Scott Prince is in the program for this legends game at noosa same weekend as auckland nines.
Slater has been out for best part of 2 seasons, and I feel like he was starting to struggle before his injuries set in, so I'd be pretty pissed if he takes Boyds spot because pretty doubtful it will have anything to do with form.
This could well be the case, but that statement has me thinking. In all honesty we really have had some bog average halfbacks in our 30 years. Apart from Langer, have we had a star halfback? In hindsight it seems really poor that we haven’t found/developed one in all that time. Maybe...
Ok, I don't need to try again. I conceded that that statement doesn't make it clear about talking prior to november 1, so I shared my personal experience and knowledge. Its no big deal if you're open to it or not, the NRL will role on, players will negotiate when they're allowed to and all...
The source you quoted there is out dated from 2010, and not relevant any more, as I mentioned earlier things came to a head with the DCE backflip. This is the most recent documented I can find, from the now NRL CEO:
NRL Contract Rule

Players will be given...
People seem confused by this, but thats not right.... Players and agents can't enter into discussion or negotiation with rival clubs until November 1 on the preceding year that their contract expires. So players off contract end of 2017 are now able to negotiate with other clubs. Their current...
That sounds pre Dce back flip of 2015 and i think talking about june 30 negotiating deadlines. The dce back flip caused the nrl to introduce the 10 day cool off period rather than sitting on contracts until june 30 to register them. Pretty sure the nov 1 rule is not that new and predates the...
No, it does exist. November 1 is the earliest you can talk to a player that comes off contract at the end of the next season, ie 2017. The June 30 rule got removed and replaced with the ten day cooling off period on contracts.
True re Andrew Tessman, but he was no plodder either. As you mentioned his career was cut short after he was hit by a car, so who knows what he would have become. Him and Dodds not in the same ball park.
I don't really see Blair as expendable. Think we need a big prop in addition to what we have, not as replacement for Blair. At the moment he's really our only forward with any mongrel and intimidation about him. I thought he was a shining light in the dismal effort of the so called star...
I like kodi, but I don't really see him as a long term hooker, he's a half imo. I'd hate to see his development stunted like ben hunt by playing 15 minutes off the bench as hooker. I remember constantly people saying he'd be better learning his trade in Qcup. Likewise, long term I think Kodi...
I get your point but not really a good comparison. Dodds will be barely more than a bench player for his career while all of those forwards you named are state or international reps. Not a fan of dodds. .he's a plodder and while he pulls off a good shot now and then i don't see him as...
No I'm not missing a point. The nrl clubs currently use the qrl comps for their excess players. ..their best are in nyc or intrust cup if ready. You can't be serious If you think norths or redcliffe colts are stronger u20s teams than any of the nyc teams. The reaaon boys play in the qrl...
