The Pats have managed to put together a modern dynasty in a league that rigs the system to make that virtually impossible. I’m inclined to put that down to stellar coaching, scouting, and players, and not one case of videotaping defensive play calls.

FTR - I don't even understand why that's illegal. People can watch game tapes during the week and get the exact same information. I think people just needed to put a dent in the Patriots' confidence, as if to say that the only reason we have been so successful is because we cheat - which is not the case at all. There is absolutely no evidence to say that it occurred more than once, and anyone that says so is just envious of the Patriots' success in that period of time.

As for your assholes comment - Cable and Davis have to be the asshole combination going around.

It's tall poppy syndrome more than anything. The fact that they're a widely disliked team, compounded by their success, means people want to tear strips off them for any reason. They walk on eggshells.
