Pretty sure 7pm Sunday has been the policy for the last match before the finals for sometime now.

That'd be so it can be live on Fox I imagine, since that's their deal - 4 live games a week when there's 8 games (5.30 Saturday, 7.30 Saturday, 2pm Sunday, 7pm Monday)...since Monday isn't allowed in the last round, they make it 7pm Sunday.

Bad time for those attending but I don't think it's a bad thing playing the last regular season game. We know all of the round 26 results before running out and therefore know if it's must win. Which it probably will be anyway.

They can't play the a Round 26 game on Monday because the finals start on Friday the Following week. and if one of the 2 teams that was due to play on Monday ends up scheduled to play on the Friday due to their position on the ladder, they are at a disadvantage
