They better stick our game against the Rabbitoh's on a Friday night because i plan on flying up for it and i am oh so important.

Anyone heard anything?

I've checked all the relevant sites but i can't find any dates yet.

Thought they would have released it after the round just gone. [icon_shru

Friday night - 17th. Will be a double header. Broncos-Souths 6.30; Bulldogs-Titans 8.30. Not 100% sure if tickets cover both matches, but I think they will have to - will be a logistical nightmare to clear out one crowd to get the next one in between matches.

Thanks Flutterby. icon_thumbs_u

No worries, reason they only just released it was that the Bulldogs only recently requested to move their home game and the NRL had to approve it. My other question (apart from if we get to stay for both games, which I'm pretty sure will be the case) is when are the going to play the U20s matches?

Should be a good night.

Also looking forward to Melbourne vs Brisbane in a few weeks. If it's anything like 3 years ago there should be a massive Qld contingent in town resulting in the Storm's biggest crowd of the year.

How will they split the gate takings from that night? will the Broncos lose money because the Bulldogs want to use their success? are the tickets going to cost more? what about the season ticket holders, do they have to pay more to see the game that night?

These are all excellent questions. I throw another one in - what about Bulldogs season ticket holders?

I would imagine that the Dogs have negotiated with the NRL that they will basically get a set amount that has already been determined and the Broncos get everything else.

has the double header actually been approved? Cause you would think if it was there would be more noise about it in the media.

thats probably right, otherwise i couldn't see the Broncos agreeing to it especially if they lost half their profits. but the Bulldogs have it the way they want it... the Broncos are basically the curtain raiser for the Bulldogs game

The double header has been consented to, but apparently the other 12 teams are trying to muscle in on it too... :P

Brisbane fans will receive a rugby league mega-week with an NRL double header planned just two days after the third, and possibly deciding, State of Origin game at Suncorp Stadium.

The NRL on Wednesday announced the round 19 schedule with the first-ever double header at Suncorp Stadium on Friday July 17.

Brisbane will play South Sydney at 6.40pm, followed by the Bulldogs and Gold Coast Titans at 8.30pm - both games televised on Channel Nine.

The Bulldogs have opted to again take one of their home games to Brisbane, with the double header eventuating after some flexibility by the Titans.

The Gold Coast host Parramatta in Monday night football just four days earlier and the Titans have waived the normal provision that ensures teams in Monday game don't play until at least the next Saturday.

"The clubs saw the round as an opportunity to do something special and with the co-operation of our broadcasters and the Stadium we have been able to deliver a fantastic feast of Rugby League for Queensland fans," said NRL chief operating officer Graham Annesley.

i has a feeling that with the teams playing it could come close to a full house.

Yep. It's win win for the Broncos. They wouldn't go close to packing it out against the nuffy bunnies, but having the Dogs playing the Titans on the same night, especially if they're also top 4...huge drawcard.

i just spoke to the Broncos members hotline.... they told me that season ticket holders are able to use their season ticket that night and are also allowed to stay for all games that night as well... so good news for us season ticket holders

I figured that'd have to be the case. It'd be different if it was a different venue, like when there were double headers at Stadium Australia/Telstra Stadium involving 2 home teams with different home venues.

Good thing is we'll get our own seat still, whereas Bulldogs season ticketholders will probably have to apply to say they want a seat, have it allocated, and possibly even have to pay a premium.

Dog fans would not have paid via season tickets to attend this game anyway as it is not included in their season tickets as it's been played away at Suncorp for the last 2 or so years. They will have to pay for tickets like thew Titans and also Rabbit fans, us season ticket holders are the winners.

I also note that if it is a full house then Dogs get 40% of the gate, good deal for them and no doubt they will be doing everything in their power to sell the game out. Should be a good night, my boys will be happy though having to feed them there between games might be expensive.

I hope I can get tickets for this one, sounds like a great night out.

Anyone else going to the Storm v Broncos game, I've just booked tickets to Melbourne for that weekend and will probably end up going, it's the back up from Origin 1 so maybe people going to that will be in town for it? Should be great.

Absolutely.

Did it three years ago and loved it. There are maroon and blue jerseys all through Melbourne the week of the game. It's a bit surreal.

I'm not so sure about it this year Russo, cause they only recently asked the NRL to do it, so if it wasn't planned from before season tickets went on sale they would have had to include it. I would say those who want to come would get first dibs on buying tickets and those who don't come would get some kind of refund?

That's awesome news, was wondering whether we had to get new seats!

Remember though that kick-off for that night is 6:40 or so - so early marks from work!!!
