they are my pick for SB from NFC side. Teams falter from time to time. SF are the best team in the nfl. Their only problem is getting through a Gaunlet known as the NFC. They will need to beat 2 of Green Bay, Atlanta, Chicago, NYG & Possibly New Orleans. Whereas my tip to win the Superbowl (Houston) will be there. No team in the AFC comes close to them. Maybe Pats or Broncos if they have a really good day.

Agree Penny. The AFC needs to up the ante, or it's going to be almost a free ride to the SB for the Texans.
Hopefully the Colts (my AFC team) will buck up and deliver on their young team's promise in the next years...
As for the Niners being too one dimensional? Only people who haven't seen them play this season can say that. They have shown the most variety of any team in the NFL and have become much better in the passing game than last year. One thing that has been disappointing and has cost them points, is some ill discipline, like against the Rams. Still they managed to come back from 2 TD down with their QB out with a concussion.
Anyway, this Monday's game is gonna be a cracker, can't wait!

I'd hardly call the 49ers the team with the most variety. Smith still doesn't go deep very often and their offense isn't anywhere near as deadly as Atlantas or Packers. Their D is still their strength but their run stopping hasn't been great of late. If they have to go to Atlanta they will lose.

Well they won't beat the packers so look to the other :p
Saints, Pats, Packers have no running game and yet they are always a chance. Smith has been playing good the last few weeks, he makes a big difference to their game.
Texans are my pick for the SB.

The most variety of any team in the NFL? Really? Do you only watch 49ers games or something? Like Ari said - they rarely go deep and their routes are all slants or curls. Don't get me wrong - it works for them, but the read option offense worked for Tebow - it didn't make him good.
49ers have arguably the best defense in the NFL, but there are still too many question marks over Smith and the receiving corps to expect a Super Bowl victory IMO. I can't see them beating Atlanta or Housten.

The plays surrounding the 2 minute warning in the 2nd qtr of the pack v lions game was bloody weird. Intercept - intercept - fumble. Pretty sloppy game but i was relieved the pack got the points, crosby needs to work his s*** out. I'm not sure why but there is something truly satisfying about watching stafford fail...
