TBH Big Pete I really don't think he would give anything away really anyway, even moreso with his position on the line this year, the last two trials will give a better indication of what the lineup will be.

Limited minutes? How do you give him more? The bloke looked like he was begging for the oxygen after five.

It's quite amusing to think about the progression of lui, at least in the fans eyes.

The whole time he played nrl for us (with the exception of one or two games) to say he was average was being very generous.

He gets a second tier contract and leaves and the reaction is (rightly) "who cares" essentially.

Now a few months and a clichéd 'I love my new club' article later and he is the buy of the year and seemingly going to play long minutes in manlys first choice squad.

I hope Lui realises his potential, I really do.

From late 08 up to his debut in first grade, Lui looked like a real genuine prospect. Was playing like an in-form Thaiday in that he could make really good charges down the flank and if need be, make some handy charges in the middle when things got tough. His involvement was quite good and he lead really well - I think he was captain in 2010 but could be wrong there.

He carried that form into the Dragons and looked like a genuine option off our bench which was a god-send. But it was basically a one off performance and he was never able to replicate it. A lot of people suggest he wasn't cut out for first grade and that might be true but his performances across all levels whether it was NYC or QCup deteriorated - his selection is one of those that boggles my mind - I know he can offer a bit of versatility, but the guy needed to spend more time in QCup, get some form and confidence and then come into first grade when he was ready. That never came to be and he was constantly just thrown onto the bench, he'd suffer some niggling injury and he just couldn't get into any rhythmn until it was too late.

In the end, I believe both parties made the right choice. Brisbane weren't getting much value out of him while Lui needed to move on and Manly is a great club these days to develop at.

Sounds similar to Maranta. It was clear that he needed to spend time in QLD Cup just to gain confidence and experience while not being under a magnifying glass, but he just kept getting picked in FG (probably cause we were low on other options).

Griffin wants to give the players as much time to prove themselves as possible.

In fact, I'd just have him name the side after the game just to get a few more training sessions of provity out of them.

It will be mostly a depth side anyway, not expecting too many of the likely 17 in it.

Just had a look through that Gallery...Copley looks big, fit and strong and seems to have matured a lot physically since I last saw him..Can't wait to see the guy play.

I don't think they will keep all of Hunt, Kahu and Strasser from the nines so I think trial 1 and 3 might be the ones to watch. Of course I could be wrong

Don't know if it's been mentioned anywhere yet, so thought this might be a good place. Has anyone seen the recent photos of Broncos training? Players are looking quite lean. Hannant in particular looks to have shed a few kilos, even Macca seems to have lost his 'plumpness'.

Yeah, they look a truckload leaner than last year. And Copley and Cullen look like they have some massive guns too in pics 2 and 17 in the "Broncos Pushing Hard" thing on the Broncs website.
