Gillo!
I don't get why they don't just make the team of the year who gets the highest amount of points in each position?
Makes the the most sense to me.
Because 3 points in a Newcastle v Roosters game is completely different to 3 points in a Broncos v Cowboys game.
Rapana robbed for winger of the year, no way Mansour was better this year
Edit:
Rapana - 23 tries, 26 linebreaks, 20 offloads, 7 try assists.
Mansour - 16 tries, 22 linebreaks, 19 offloads, 2 try assists.
No contest.
Yeah I get that, but the way they pick the team of the year defeats the purpose of the points doesn't it?
In my books, Milford was robbed of the five-eight spot. I am biased but the stats back me up, he had the most points in that position and we had probably one of the harder draws this year.
Taumololo and Cronk are the joint dally m winners. I'm happy with that at least they didn't pick Thurston.
The amount of points a player scores doesn't necessarily show how good a player was/is.

Croker was robbed of centre of the year it went to BJ leilua instead. Leilua is a good player but I feel Croker was the far better of the two. Leilua is a hot and cold combo. Can come up with some great stuff but stupid stuff at the same time.
No.
The point system asks who the best three players were on the park, it doesn't determine who the best fullback, wing, centre etc. were.
Milford wasn't that great this year and still isn't the best five-eighth in the competition. Once he decides to grow up, he maybe in with a shot.
