Ohhh... I said that too. Not a popular opinion here though. :pMy choice it would be Boyd not in it and Kahu was.

How much of the cap does Kahu free up?
350 - 400k?
Who was 22? He has some toe from a standing start.
When did he last sign?
Coates- plays for Tweed, played MM with Dearden. Scored four tries in the season. Very agile- Queensland U18 there was a run that got Queensland their first try that was sensational then Tino just ended it down the left hand side.
About 250k ... Minus the 100k minimum to replace him in the top 30 ...How much of the cap does Kahu free up?

So the probably leaves us a maximum of 150k extra to play with
Thanks mate.
Staggs was great with limited time and touches. Showed some decent ability against the top levels in a muck around game with no established structures. One half break and a run for 30 metres. Uninspiring.

Brisbane have a quartet of talented young halfbacks knocking down Kodi Nikorima’s door
FEBRUARY 17, 2019
Broncos legend Allan Langer says halfback Kodi Nikorima faces a fight to retain Brisbane’s No.7 jersey following the emergence of Red Hill’s “Fab Four”.
The Broncos received a sneak peek at their bright future on Saturday night when 17-year-old playmaker Tom Dearden, too young to play NRL, dominated in a trial match along with fellow teenagers Tanah Boyd and Cory Paix.
Throw Roosters recruit Sean O’Sullivan, 20, into the mix and the Broncos have a wealth of shot-calling talent at their disposal for potentially the next decade.
It has been a long time since Brisbane had such highly-rated young halves coming through the ranks, with the Broncos struggling to find a long-term No.7 since Langer’s retirement in 2002.
Langer, a four-time Broncos premiership winner, was at Warwick to watch Brisbane’s next generation beat Souths-Logan 42-0 and said incumbent halves Nikorima and Anthony Milford would be feeling the heat.

“They were very good, they impressed the coach (Anthony Seibold),” said Langer, a Broncos trainer.
“They are only young at the moment but they’re going to put pressure on our top halves.
“Kodi and Milf have got their spots, but these blokes are going to be really knocking at the door in the next couple of years.
“The future of the Broncos in the halves is looking pretty good.”
Dearden, who turns 18 the day before Brisbane’s first game of the NRL season against Melbourne on March 14, may not be physically ready to mix it in the top grade, but his two-try performance proved he is a genuine talent.
Boyd, 18, and Paix, 19, are a year ahead of Dearden in development and both have represented Queensland in junior Origin clashes.

The Broncos also have former Australian Schoolboys halfback Troy Dargan, 21, on their list again, however he could not crack the NRL last season under ex-coach Wayne Bennett.
O’Sullivan served a season under former Test and Queensland halfback Cooper Cronk at the Roosters last year and Seibold said he was in the mix for the NRL.
“Milford and Nikorima are the guys in the frame (for the halves) at the moment,” Seibold said.
“But Sean and the younger guys have an opportunity to bite at those guys’ heels.”
Late last year, the Warriors were sounded out, by a third party, about potentially signing Nikorima as a replacement for Cronulla-bound halfback Shaun Johnson.
Talks never progressed but the revelation prompted Nikorima to seek assurances from Seibold about his future at Red Hill.
While Nikorima, New Zealand’s Test halfback, will start the season in the No.7 jersey, Langer said he wanted to see more from the inconsistent playmaker.
“I’m expecting better leadership out of him,” he said.
“He is a Test player and has got to really take that consistency into his game.
“He has to lead the team around the field, control the game and be good with his communication skills.”
Nikorima and O’Sullivan may have their first runs of the year when the Broncos face Wynnum-Manly in a trial at Kougari Oval on Saturday night.
