2019 Broncos Season Review

So, what’s it going to cost us to convince Cronk to sign a 1 or 2 year deal starting from 2020?
He could become the first player to hit 1.5mil, but I don’t fkn care.
Happy for it to come at a cost of loosing milf, Oates shiba and isaako.

Problem is they play with no heart or passion. When it gets hard they throw the towel in. All they worry about is the pay packet

To me, the issues were obvious last year. I'm not talking Boyd, or McCullough, or Bird, or any player at all. To me, the issue was that we just simply weren't doing the fundamentals. Discipline, possession, field position, pressure. Most people were fucking delirious when Bennett was punted for Mr Harvard. **** yeah, music in the gyms! High five! Faster than game speed. What a concept, high ten! Metrics, buzz words, shiny stuff, let's rub our genitals together in anticipation!!!

Nailed it. Said similar in the post-game thread - the fundamentals have gone nowhere for years. Shit defence, and zero attacking threat. All reliant on individual brilliance to score points.

It can be turned around - Exhibit #1 Manly this year vs last. But whether Siebold is the one to do it is the question. He gets a full offseason, but if they dish up the same shit next season...

No chance mate.

The less said about this season the better. I’ll name my side for next year and leave it at that:

1. Bird
2. Oates
3.
4. Staggs
5. Farnworth
6. Milford
7. Dearden
8. Lodge
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Fifita
12. Glenn
13. TPJ

14. Segeyaro
15. Carrigan
16.
17.

The spots I’ve left bank would be pending performance in the trials.

I will admit at the time I named Oates I was just trying to fill in numbers, for me his spot would be another up for grabs pending trials.

Not bad, but for mine Oates and Milford are done at this club. Unfortuanlty I think both will be around long term.
Milford isn't a 1, but he isn't a 6 either (unless he seriously knuckles down and gets his fitness and speed pin point.)
I'm now thinking Milford is a 14, but no 14 should be on half of what he is currently getting paid. it's a real issue for the club imo.
We need to recruit a seasoned half. I'd also like to see Paix in this side come 2020.

We need an experienced journeyman that’s got a half a brain in defence to be honest that’s all we need on both edges we have

hes a 6 with a proper half beside him he looked fantastic with dearden, either way he isn’t worth more then 600 to 700 k anymore

I’m willing to give Milford a bit of time next year to see if he can build a successful partnership with a true halfback in Dearden.

4. Staggs (if he lifts)
5. Coates
6. Milford

14. Seggy
15. Offa (only because we just signed him and he wont leave... rip)
16. Gillett (would rather him retire)
17. Flegler

Somebody get on the phone with Aidan Sezer's manager. Sign him up for next year, we need a half, the market isn't flush for quality, he's (apparently) available. We'd be fucking mad to not at least sign him for a 1 year contract and see how he fits in our team.

I've been saying it for a few weeks.
We need to make it happen 🤞
Starting to think it'll be Croft though tbh, still a massive upgrade on what we currently have.
Dearden and Sezer would work great imo.

On another note, as far as I’m concerned the “REAL” Broncos season has just started with a win.

How good did our Women look today!!!

I'd take them both, 7 and 6. Our halves are a joke and hoping Dearden will be our saviour with some make shift 5/8 alongside him is not going to pan out well.

Seibold did not build this side. He inherited it. So far we have kept the players we have wanted to keep. Short term pain long term gain in my eyes. Would I like to see Boyd and McCullough gone ... yes. Reality is are people willing to have a spine of Milford, Paix/SOS, Deardon and Turpin if we can't find anybody else?

Personally I think we need to chase Brodie Croft. I would be willing to see SOS leave and be replaced by Croft.

1 - Milford
6 - Croft
7 - Deardon
9 - Turpin

That looks good to me. Again though I honestly think it'll be a 2021 before we see the best from this side consistently with that spine as it's very young.

If we are looking at experience then maybe Sezer, not sure who else is on the market.

Do we enquire about out of favour Dufty and put the Milf back in the 6. There are so many variables, we need tp do something, but it doesn't have to be drastic.

Yep we need an experienced half. The job of organising this rabble is too big for a young half/halves, especially when they are still trying to establish themselves in first grade. Croft or sezer sound like the best options available.
