Looking forward to the BMX today.

Hopefully Australia can make up for Rio. Anthony Dean was dominant throughout the finals runs until that last race where there was an issue and he didn't finish.

Anthony Dean is going to be the only Aussie in the Men's BMX. No Sam Willoughby this time around. He suffered a training run crash at Chula Vista BMX track and was declared a tetraplegic. From my understanding, he's recovering from the crash but at 29 his BMX career is over.

His wife, Alise Willoughby, is representing USA in the BMX at this Olympics, though. He became her coach after the crash. She won silver at Rio.

Yeah Sam Willowby’s story is pretty tragic. Broke his back on the bmx and as far as I’m aware, still can’t walk.

That was a brilliant swim by Stubble-on-cheek, he stuck to his plan while the other guys were burning themselves out, that took guts to not panic while those other blokes were so far under WR time.

I'm excited about the 4x100m mixed medley, what a cool concept. I wonder who Australia will go with. Neither the men or the women have a good 100m breast stroker.

I wonder if they might go:

Backstroke - McKeown
Butterfly - McKeon
Breaststroke - Stubble-on-cheek

A lot has been said about Titmus, but jeez McKeon is showing some dominance out there as well.

stubble on cheek is a good 100m breast stroker just sits back in his 200m races so he will be there.

Do they do the mixed medley at the world championships or anything??

Seems an odd concept where the men will probably take up the freestyle and butterfly legs (I think they're generally the two fastest strokes over short distance??)

I think a mixed 100m freestyle would work better... 2 fastest men and 2 fastest women competing and even playing field

The Australian Women’s 7’s team won their first group match against Japan 48-0.

Expecting the same against China.

McKeon is a gun butterflier and freestyler, you'd throw her in for sure. McKeown is the 100m backstroke WR holder, she gets that leg, even though Larkin is also really good, you take the WR holder for sure.

Well that sucks. Anthony Dean was a strong chance for gold. I was hoping he would make up for 2016 but doesn’t look like he will now.
