I think she just fell out of favour.

She was part of the relay team that won our first gold this Olympics.

Yeah, she's been dealing with injuries over the last few years as well so she's fallen behind the other swimmers as a sprint specialist. Think she was close to retiring at one point.

Pretty shit day for Australia at the Olympics to be perfectly honest

Knocked out by India in the women's hockey
Playing for Bronze in the women's soccer
Seen bits and pieces of the track cycling, we didn't ever look like getting anything there (we use to be a power house of that sport)
Couple of "happy to make it this far" runs in the athletics

Was always going to happen after the highs of the day before.

The Matildas loss was a gut punch due to the pretty poor decision that cost them a goal.

The Opals bought it home strong though, they came from nowhere.

Should be a fun day lined up. We get our first look at the Aussie male 1500m runner who is a reportedly a good chance at the medals. Aussies up in the hockey at 8pm, Boomers at 10pm and beach volleyball at 11pm.

Also some really strong chances in sailing and some finalists in track and field though not expected to medal.

Both of them are ranked in the top 10 in the world so if they execute their race plan perfectly, I think they are a chance of a medal.

The Opals are going to be playing USA in the Quarter Final.

The 3rd and 4th quarter in their final game was much better from them and showed they can play a lot better than they have been in the tournament. Hopefully pulling off a 27 point win to make the Quarter Final ignites them and they find that extra gear.

Taking on USA with Liz Cambage though... That's a tough task.
