2021 Trial #1 - Broncos vs Wynnum Manly [LIVE STREAM]

That picture symbolises everything that was wrong with the club last year. I reckon that was our lowest point. Well, so far.
Heck don't tell me it gets worse from here

Has anyone seen Tesi Niu do anything that justifies all the hype he arrived with? Even his highlight reel is nothing special. Walsh, on the other hand, he looked like captain out there. And that short kickoff.

I don’t reckon it gets any worse than a clubs first ever spoon. Now we can definitely stay at that level but it doesn’t get worse.

If tesi isnt performing at centre, you have copley, kennar, arthurs and mead (who played fullback and centre in super league).

Coates may actually benefit from having a senior player next to him in defence.

It’s symbolic of the downfall of all things broncos.

So that means we're already going better than last year.
To be fair, the only NRL contracted player was Vudogo.

Brisbane tonight had 8-9 depending on Gamble's status with the club.

I remember thinking on literally dozens of occasions last year "well, it can't get any worse at least".... and it did, everytime....

Looking at the game probably only Tesi, TPJ and Lodge are making the 17 for round 1, and Tesi's only there because of Staggs' injury.

Walsh looked really good, but he's on a development deal (so don't think he can play anyway). This is where R&R should realise this guy is a legit fullback for 10yr and it's only a matter of time before he takes the fullback spot. When you know a player will be a starter you can pay them starter money. Isaako and co. are a stop gap and Walsh probably only needs the one year in ISC, but if they lock him down they can make sure he develops correctly.

Kennar looked solid, which he did last year. I'd have him ahead of Copley and Mead to be honest... although I haven't seen Mead play in like 5yrs.

Arthars didn't have many opportunities, but looked less busy and less effective than Niu (who had a poor game anyway).

Gamble was very poor at 6... I think he should seriously consider transitioning to 2nd row or centre. I think 2nd row would be better for him if he can bulk enough and handle the defensive load.

Pretty poor game from Albert. He had some nice touches, some nice little cut out balls when it was on and a great kick to force a drop out from 50m out, but there was no running game and no zip. Could be a little bit of rust and you might have another look at him after he does a year of ISC.

TPJ and Lodge's first stint looked subdued and them playing within themselves... not unexpected given it's their first hit out and they just wanted some minutes under their belt. Lodge turned it on in his second stint though with some strong runs and nice ball play (very promising signs)... TPJ still looked a little within himself in the 2nd stint and may have just been looking to get through the game knowing his spot was sealed heading into Rd 1.

I wasn't all that impressed with Kobe at hooker, but as a running lock he was creating some great momentum through the middle... might be his spot moving forward. I was pretty impressed with Gahan though and would like to get @Big Pete or the opinion of someone in the know on where he stands in the broncos thoughts coming through.

Kenan and Pulu looked about ISC standard... Palasia maybe even lower, but he hasn't played a game in god knows when.

Bullemor looked very good though. Hopefully he can spend this year in ISC and do his apprenticeship in the same way Carrigan and Haas did. He worked his way through defenders and then made post contact meters and quick ptb's off the back of it. Was probably the most impressive forward tonight.

From the rest Tass looks a pretty impressive talent, but needs to learn when to be conservative and score off the next play.

Cobbo looked slick and probably a similar build to Coates, but a quicker mover laterally. Didn't get many opportunities for the broncos or seagulls (outside of his try), but I've seen his highlights and he looks a young Latrell out in the centres... would like to see how he goes with a year in ISC
