FOOTBALL 2023 FIFA WWC Discussion

Interesting selection choices for the next game. Foord and fowler are undroppable form wise. Kerr looked a level above with the few touches she did have. Van egmond has been crucial playing as a target in the middle and disrupting lines.

Tough decisions to be made.

If Matildas can get past France, they have a good chance against England to make the final.

They beat them in a friendly not long before the tournament. England were very underwhelming against Nigeria and it had to go to penalties for them to win. They will also be missing arguably their best performing player in this WC.

But first things first, got to beat France as I can't see Morocco beating them tonight.

If the Matildas can make the final, anything can happen. However, I'm also torn. Netherlands are on the other side of the draw and there's a possibility they could make it and I also support Netherlands. They were runner-ups in the previous WC. It's either going to be Netherlands or Spain in the final.

That's a bold call with Japan and Sweden in the other QF. Definitely no slouches

Surprised it's still 0-0 at half time between Colombia and Jamaica.

Expected to see Colombia in the lead.
 
What a goal Colombia.

Usme with the opening goal. That was a nice delivery and a nice cool finish.
 
That was a nice first touch from Usme.

Second touch in the back of the net.
 
Jamaica almost hit back from a header then Colombia counter and had a golden chance to score another but blow it.

Two goals saved either side in a matter of seconds.
 
I don't know why so many players hesitate before taking a shot.

Spence with a free header in front of goal and puts it wide. That would have been Jamaica level. Got to do a lot better than that.

Free header in front of goal and Diani nails it. GK had no chance.
 
And Dali scores France's second.

That was way too easy.
 
France have a third.

A mistake in the box from Morocco serves it up on a platter for Sommer who nails it in the back of the net.
 
Well that was a pretty comfortable first half for France.

Had their chance to be up by more at half time. Morocco have been really poor at the back, there's been no communication and too many mistakes.

I hope Matildas are watching this.
