The Mole: Former teen sensation quits Bulldogs to join rival after devastating injury

Teenage sensation Karl Oloapu has recovered from a career-threatening neck injury and is set to quit the Canterbury Bulldogs to join the Dolphins.

If this happens it is so funny. He ***** us over to go to the Bulldogs who have to pay us 500k or some shit for the little ****, he then does sweet **** all there, picks up an injury and before even returning for them after they do all his medical and rehab he is fucking off.

To say he has low character is being extremely generous, his family must be a right bunch of ***** to have raised this little shithead.

I can't believe the 500k transfer fee story.

I feel for him with his injury, but the way the entitled prick carried on, by saying I will never play for the Broncos again. His manager Matt Adamson had a big say in what happened to him, as he wanted a % of the contract.

Wasn't one of the reasons he left was he said he was guaranteed the five-eighth spot & didn't want to play lock.

Gus was making him into a lock.

Unless the Dogs want him off their books. Even if he comes back, how likely is he to actually be any good? Not many players have come back well from a neck injury.

I reckon the Doggies probably do want him off the books with all the players they are signing, somethings got to give with them.

The neck injury is a huge concern. He's probably got age on his side, but its not an injury you seem many get back to top form from.

This is what the Oloapu camp wanted all along. Karl wanted to play for his junior club and potentially become the face of the franchise. The Dolphins had big plans for him and saw him as somebody they could market as the face of their junior development.

Of course the neck injury didn't help matters, but he's been looked after on a bigger contract than the one he was on at Red Hill.

Has he actually been given a medical clearance to play......?

Funny if he ends up being turned into a 9 or 13 at Redcliffe too.

If gets back to full fitness and ends up being the player he looked like he would be, him and Katoa in the halves could be something really special. He looked a hell of a talent which is why we were annoyed to lose him.

Of course but that's a massive if after what he's been through. The chances of him being serviceable let alone a superstar are miniscule. I don't like what he did to the club but I wouldn't wish what he's been through on anyone and in hindsight, financially he definitely made the right decision. It just would have been better if he didn't let the door hit him on the way out.

I'd say they'll be planning to have him as the long term 6 outside Katoa with Plath as the lock.

JMK is 29yr so he's there for the next 5yr or so.

Yeah most likely as a 6. They also have Gilbert at 13, so he isn't going anywhere either. Honestly, if he could prove the odds wrong and end up being great, that Redcliffe side would be set up for long term success, they have a really good backbone of that side.

Fullback: Elite
Winger: Isaako is elite and Bastock looks like he could get there
Centre: Herbie is elite
Halfback: Best young halfback talent in the game
Hooker: Very good
Middles: If Flegs can come good and that's a big if too - elite
Second-Row: Pretty solid
Bench: Serviceable

I wouldn't call the hammer an elite fullback. To be classified as an elite fullback, you have to be in the top 5 of your position in the world and I don't think he is in the top 5 fullbacks of the world.

Scrap Isucko from that "elite" list as well.......

Are any of the fullbacks in the SL elite?

I certainly don't watch enough of it, so probably goes for all positions.

I think he's up there in terms of wingers. Great goal kicker, scores plenty of tries in a side that isnt one of the better ones. He close to being classed as elite even if he might not quite be there.

His issue is when he thinks he's something else but a winger.
He has a major case of the Josh Hoffman’s.
