That's because he would never be picked! Despite being picked the last 2 seasonsBut Mam can't count the All Stars ok!
I think still 10 in the bin . But they take your number and if 15 minutes later the victim can't pass the HIA you're gone for 10 .Yeah that’s not a can of worms. So a slightly illegal tackle could get a 15min sin bin after a HIA fail.
Yeah let’s add more grey areas.
There's no way teams could exploit this. If they do it the sport just becomes even stupider.
100% going to happen if the rule is implemented. Any time that a spine player clips a forward high you may as well book them in for a sin bin.If they're going to implement then i think the NRL should have an independent doctor present during the HIA.
It's one of those ones where if your reserve grade prop gets HIA'd right on the time they're coming from the field then have them "fail" the HIA to bring one of their players off the field for 10mins.
Hell some teams ::cough:: storm ::cough:: just drag people from the field under HIA to rort the substitutions... now they can add a failed HIA and get a player sin binned.
There are massive risks of rorting given how much rorting already happens around HIA's and diving for high tackles
The obstruction rule will also be a point of emphasis, with referees told to reward good attacking play rather than poor defensive reads where a defender appears to be taken out.
This will no doubt blow the minds off fans for consistency. The lesser teams will get absolutely screwed and the top tier teams will get all the calls no doubt.
What a load of shit... what the **** defines 'good attacking play' is it not good defence to position yourself so the second rower doesn't get a clean run through? The obstruction rule will also be a point of emphasis, with referees told to reward good attacking play rather than poor defensive reads where a defender appears to be taken out.

Players will rort it under instruction anyway. It would be remarkably easy to pretend you need one even if you are fine. This rule will be trialled during the pre-season challenge ... but reportedly will not be implemented during the 2025 pre-season proper.
I like the rule in theory, but I don't see it working in practice.
you're 1000% correct ... they only way for there to be any chance of it working is for the NRL to employ a couple of independent doctors at every single match (you'll need more than one in case they need to assess multiple HIA's simultaneously.). these independent doctors need to be at the ground handling every HIA. it is the only way to prevent teams rorting the system and the only chance it has of actually working
