2025 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

I still can't believe it. I want to know what Knights and Eels fans think because this deal is Doncic for Davis level bad. It doesn't even solve Newcastle's biggest need. Brown has proven time and time again (Moses has been out a lot), he isn't a halfback, he's barely an above average 6.

What will this do to the market? If someone this average can get this much, what about players that are actually good?
You say Doncic for Davis, but weren't Lakers fucking stoked with that deal??

I think eels fans are "happy" with the deal only because they aren't the ones paying $1.3m... but if this never happened and they retained Brown for like $800k or whatever they'd be happy as well.

This deal feels like lose lose on both accounts... it's like Bhunt on steroids... killed broncos and dragons at the same time... except this deal looks like it has Chernobyl'd the knights and pushed eels into full blown rebuild

He is 24. I think he was underrated for the first 3 or 4 years of his career. Came in very young. Has not been at his best the last year or so. I still believe in him. I'm not sure it makes sense for the Knights at the price and length but I get it. I think there is an exceptional top level player in there. Hopefully we didn't see the best of him at an early age.

The price is wild but the real issue is that the guy just isn’t a halfback. It’s so obvious.

They’re going to take this huge risk on a player who doesn’t even solve their issue. They would’ve been better off spending even more on Moses or an actual 7.

Parra can now rip the bandaid off and get rid of all their deadwood. They still have Moses there and while he’s becoming bit injury prone, he’s still arguably a top 3-5 halfback in the league, so that will attract players there still if he shows he isn’t busted.

They need to get rid of Paulo now as well and start recruiting some solid first graders needing an opportunity. I’d also throw the kitchen sink at someone like Paps and even Staggs. Let the comp know basically you are open for business.

Brown is a solid 6, both in terms of his position, and on a scale of 1-10.

Handy member of your spine at the right price, and with the right players around him, but he isn't the star guy that's going to drag you to a premiership.

Knights throwing $1.3 a year for 10 years has to be the worst deal in NRL history.
