PRE-GAME [Round 2, 2025] Broncos vs Raiders

This is a perfect step up from the Roosters. Canberra are a tough mid table side that could finish top 8 to 6 depending on head to head results with similar sides over the season.
We should handle them especially without Tapine and Savage, a loss will be very disappointing.
They also played a side in Vegas which I suspect will struggle so that win, while comfortable is hard to guage.

I'm hoping to see a return to 2023 footy where we would blow teams away in the last 20 mins. Grind it out for the first half with minimum errors strong D, then put teams to the sword with our flair and fitness.
That dragon's game in particular at Suncorp - we were down a few tries with 15 or so to go and then just obliterated them because we just surged and they collapsed.

Am not sure that anyone has brought this up. Patty was always the ball playing forward linking up with the backs. Now he is the link in the middle with the other forwards and also the backs. Hass also has taken that trait ups as well which confused the Roosters defense where they were looking to a one out pass/tackle.

Will be a great year if we go with the backyard footy type that we saw on Thursday with the passes sticking.

Agreed. Their forward pack is decent but loses so much without Tapine. They are big but very green aside from him in the middle (they do have Horsburgh though of course and Papalii) but their second row is really good (I hate to say it).
Yep, their Edges are pretty dangerous, but they should really only become a threat if they get into good field position and are testing our line consistently, and that should only happen if we allow their Middle Forwards to truck them up the field consistently, so as long as we stay on top of that, and we absolutely should, then the threat from the Edges get somewhat nullified.

All we need is one more win to become the premiership favourites. We can do this.

Gonna be a weird game - watching Footy whilst your windows are trying to blow inwards

Ah...very "green" you say - I see what you did there!!!!

A good time to be playing the Raiders now i reckon, it will be a good barometer for what we just saw from the lads in Rd 1.

As mentioned previously, we want to see discipline and structure for the first 40 minutes.

I don't expect a complete 80 minute performance this early in the new season. But the Rooster cracked around the 60 minute mark there and let in a flood of tries precisly because of that first 40 minutes.

So, can we please see another repeat of that first 40 minutes?

Also, watch closely Payne Haas and his yardage runs. I think i noticed he was running wider than usual last week, almost singularly focussed on hitting the edge. He can easily attract 3-4 tacklers given his form right now, that includes a defending half and 2nd rower.

Is this why we had so many short raids against the Roosters coming up trumps?
