2025 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

A front rower is always going to cop a lot more injuries long term than a halfback purely because of the work load expected from each player. Signing a prop to a deal longer than 5 years is plain irresponsible regardless of who the player is and Taumalolo is the perfect example of why you cant give out such long term contracts to forwards.
Dunno about front rowers getting injured more .
They run in straight lines . And aren't running and accelerating like halves . Also their sheer size . Halves are running faster changing direction more and getting tackled by people with much more size and muscle . Maybe more HIA for a prop .

Compare a front rowers body to a halfbacks body at the end of their career. 99 out of 100 its normally the props body is a lot more banged up with injuries than the halfbacks. Obviously there are always exceptions, but the proof is there to be seen with a lot more halves running around in their mid 30s compared to forwards. (ie DCE, Reynolds, Hunt, Walker, Foran, Townsend in the NRL currently compared to Mark Nicholls, Marty Taupau and Ben Murdoch Masila in the forwards in which only 1 of them plays consistent first grade)

A lot easier to find a young prop to replace them .
Not so easy to find a young half to do the job . Young props are common . Young halves not so .
