Nah sorry Bunny he said some mean words to a female cop , as a result he is excluded from leasdership positions by order of the virtue signalling members of BHQ .
Doesn`t matter he leads training and has been voted best player at the club multiple times . If you step out of line in Brisbane your card is forever marked . LOL .

Yeah, I'm with everyone else saying your reading comprehension is below par. Nobody said he was excluded from anything. I had an issue with you claiming threatening a female police officer was the same as saying "some mean words to a female cop". You make it incredibly difficult to follow the rules of not insulting members on here when you play devils advocate regarding violence against women. Unfortunately an apt description of you would get me banned from BHQ, but I hope someone in your life makes you aware of how shit your opinions are.

The female cop was harrasing him over an incident he had nothing to do with. Threatening to bash her is a bit much, but she would have copped an earful from me too.
He also said just before he got sacked that he and kevvie shared a special relationship or something to that affect, wonder if they were tongue in cheek words now.

I think Haas and Kevvie definitely do share a special bond and Payne does love him and owes Kev a lot for all the emotional support received when he was coach. The issue I think maybe relates to although Kev is a great bloke and probably even a better friend, as a coach Payne may have finally realised he was severely lacking in a lot of areas after just experiencing an origin campaign under Madge.
I imagine when comparing a coaching session between Kev and Madge, there would be a huge difference in how they are conducted. I daresay Madge would also instill a lot more confidence in players when talking gameplans and tactics, considering his significant experience at the top level. I could imagine Kev probably struggling to get his thoughts and objectives across clearly and confidently to players, whether that be at training or in a game situation.

Not sure about that... I think all the words that have come out have been about his surprise he was let go.
He also played in the Dolphins game when he was injured to try and get the win... no point doing that if you want the coach gone anyway.
I think Payne just genuinely wants to be at the Broncos (given his family situation that's basically where he's based now) and he wants them to be fucking professional... absolutely nothing wrong with a player in the leadership group trying to set some standards... the club needs waaay fucking more of it to be honest.
The leadership group are the ones that have to set the standards and I would applaud Payne for bringing them together and saying shit has to change... that isnt purely a coaching thing, that can be the leadership group dragging the playing group along into a standard of professionalism and telling them that certain shit wont be accepted anymore... which is where I think Payne was coming from.

Not so much he wanted Kevvie gone, but his time under Madge in Origin opened his eyes to how far behind the Broncos were:
“I saw a few things that I won’t go into too much, but we needed to work harder. I was watching some of the other boys in the NSW team. The way they did things … I felt like we could be doing things better at the Broncos. Being in those rep camps, you learn from the best. You take away certain things and you talk about what these guys in other teams are doing and I feel we can implement it at the Broncos. I took away a lot from what ‘Madge’ said and what he stands for. That Origin camp made me think about how I should approach being in this team.”
“Madge will bring a hard edge, he’ll expect a lot from us. It was a tough session last Monday, but with Madge, as long as you’re giving it a red-hot crack, that’s all he will ask for. That’s all we need from everyone this season. Giving it your best every day and you know if you do that, you’re surely going to get better.”
“Madge is really big on competing all the time. He can be intense, but to be honest, I reckon that’s what we need at the Broncos. He loves winning, but what I also really admired was his love for family. Madge is really big on connection and his attitude is that the most connected team always comes out on top. He loved people bringing their family in. His message was, ‘Our families are part of this ride as well, it’s not just us’, and he was really big on that family aspect in Origin. I admired that about Madge and I think the boys at the Broncos will enjoy what he brings. I just can’t wait to get stuck in day in, day out. I really want to go after it.”
“I felt a bit blindsided by Kevvie's sacking. It was hard. I’ve got lots of love for ‘Kevvie’ and I will never forget the times he was there for me. I signed to stay at the Broncos (in August 2023) because I wanted to be part of what Kevvie was building. Unfortunately, guys like me and Patty (Carrigan) have gone through about three coaches now, so as players you have to keep moving forward. But I wish Kevvie well and he will always be a club legend. I’d like to think he knows I gave my all for him.”
“Losing the Grand Final like that … yeah it hurt. That was a really tough memory and if we’re in that position again, if we’re in a grand final again, I hope we’ll lean back on that time and really learn from that experience. It’s behind us now.”
“It’s hard to answer what went wrong in 2024. I was pretty confident heading into the year, but we had so many injuries and you lose momentum. Sometimes things ain’t meant to be. Every club has setbacks, but it’s important we learn from this and bounce back next year.”
“A premiership is the ultimate goal for me. Every professional athlete in any sport wants to win a comp. I couldn’t see myself ever leaving the Broncos without winning a premiership for myself, my teammates and the club. Playing Origin and for Australia, all that stuff is cool, but nothing would beat winning a comp for the Broncos. I love this club so much. I love the boys at the club. You see the Penrith guys do it and I’ll be working my backside off this year to make sure we get the ultimate prize.”
“The offers from Rugby weren’t really a threat to be honest. I know there was a lot of talk when I was off-contract. You know me, I don’t really like the limelight and I don’t get involved in all the media talk. I leave all that stuff to my agent to sort out. I played rugby when I was younger. In this game, you never know what’s around the corner, but right now I’m happy at the Broncos and I don’t want to be anywhere else.”
“It would be an honour to captain this club one day. I’d do anything that is asked of me but right now I’m just focused on playing footy and playing my role. We’ve got a great leadership group and I’m proud to be part of that. We all need to be leaders every day in our own way, it’s about everyone stepping up.”
“We’ve got a roster to make the finals, as a club we should make finals every year. We’ll be shooting for a top-four spot and it’s important we bounce back quickly next year.
