2025 Pre-season discussion. Training the house down.

I'm not saying that getting Reynolds back to 100% important. What I'm saying is your one and only captain we have needs to with his team, both training and playing. Leading by example and addressing any needed matters.
Yeah definitely it's important, but you don't take the C away from a bloke just because he got an injury

Reynolds has been carrying a neck injury for a some time .
Remember he had some time off with a neck injury[ was it 2 seasons ago ?]

So it might be he was leading on and off the field the past cpl seasons until his body said enough is enough .
Which might actually inspire some of his younger team mates to harden up .

But the player with the C should be leading by example both on and off the field and training paddock.
So again I must ask why do you think the guy that was one of the players cutting out of training early to beat traffic back to the GC fits that criteria? Should everyone follow that lead and start leaving training early?

captain too vocal? lol

Too panicked and emotional with his vocals .
Not all Captains commentate the game as it is played . You reckon Reyno is chirping like Patty on every play ?

Pat is a fine player . Leader of men ? Jury is still out .

Much like parenting .
Too much talk and it loses it`s impact .

I get what you're overall trying to say, to a point. I wouldn't call it panicked, maybe excited(?)
and I would agree that he hasn't got the balance right yet, when to be more chirpy. You want your words and volume...and pitch, to awaken/motivate/inspire the team when they need it. If its there all the time, it can become white noise.

Us husbands out there can relate ...... 😉

Dad`s too .
Talk too much and it has less impact on the kids .

I'm not saying he isn't when he's fit, I'm just stating he is too injury prone.

Tearing his bicep last year was a freak accident .
Other than that he is pretty consitent .

Again another meme - Oh Reynolds , he`s always injured .
Put that in the same file as the players don`t know how to play the game .

Except he isn't.

He has been in the NRL for 13 seasons and played 287 games.

In half of those seasons, he has played every game.

In all bar 3 seasons, he has exceeded 20 games.

In each of the 3 seasons he fell under 20 games, the injuries were not ones that are recurring due to the body breaking down;

2015 was a knee injury from being hit in a charge down
2016 was a broken jaw
2024 torn bicep

These are not the stats of someone who is injury prone

- Boys look fit and ready to go
- Conditioning is done, now doing skills training
- Always good to know you are wanted
- I don't want to leave, I love everything about this club and the direction we are going
- Maguire is trying to instil toughness in us
- Goal is to push Patty to the front row and I play 13 but no guarantees
- I rely on my defense as my strength
- Maguire puts a lot of time in to you as a person not just a player
- Everyone is buying in and training really well
- I can play on the edge if I need to, yeah ahh, I can play on the edge (not convincing)
- Payne never gets injured, he'll be right (weird question and comment)
- We are focused on round 1 against the Roosters
- We all want to win a premiership and we've got the squad to do it
- Last year is in the back of the head, gives a bit of motivation to do better
- Mam looks real sharp
- Hunt has been unreal and is a real leader, a real good talker
- Reynolds is only out a few weeks, he'll be back before round 1 but Hunt is slotting right in there
- Mam is a brother to all of us and we've got his back
- Yeah nah up for the challenge, real excited
- Everyone knows what Ezra did is the wrong thing to do, it on them if they act like that
- Maguire focuses on all the little things, getting us on the same page (paraphrasing)
- This training is my sort of style and no guarantees on the future but I want to stay here, hopeful of being here next year, 100%
- Can't really hear you mate sorry
- Jock is also filling in for Reynolds and Mam
- Real
