Q-CUP 2025 Queensland Cup Discussion

Dolphins again in the corner and really poor by the Bears to let him run around.

Verhoeven double.

The Dolphins centre is so nervous he’s sprinting up and trying to give him no room- didn’t work.

Verhoeven 3.

Innes just gives him the ball. Fends moves runs to the corner.

Bryce hole running try. Too little now I think.

Souths haven't named their hooker to square off against Bukowski, with Smoothy, Mozer and Eggerling currently in Reserves.

Innes showed his ability to adapt again on Monday, game moved, against Dolphins and he still came up with 126m but it wasn’t metres out the back coming through it was hard runs from kick returns. His ability to adapt is his best skill. Redcliffe prop Starr made the most metres with 130 for the game. It was a real forwards game.

Trew goes full Gene Miles and gets to the fullback and just goes over him.

Antonio fourth try this week and eight in seven Meninga games.

Bears are going to flog Ipswich so he will get a bag today.

Bryce gets pulled down from behind but jumps up keeps going and scores.

Smoothy to start.
Mozer and Eggerling on the bench.

Rogers stretchered off against Jets.

It looked like he might have torn a ligament in his knee when he was attempting to score. The Jets came from everywhere and Rogers got twisted up in the tackle.

BHQ favourite, Matty Koellner scored a crucial try. Bears held a tight six point lead, with the Jets surging. However, Reuben made an error at the back and the Bears were able to turn the tide. Koellner running straight at the dummy half and fullback and he was too big close to the line.

Christensen was quiet. His one highlight was when he hit Reuben and forced a panic pass which led to a turn-over. I'm not sure what happened exactly, but Christensen was shrugged off a tackle and immediately came to the sideline for Sheldon.

Burleigh go 3 in a row. It was a sloppy performance, but the Bears proved too strong for the Jets. The majority of their points came through the ruck where they were able to catch the Jets napping. At 22-6, it was always going to be difficult for the Jets to fight back and while the game hung in the balance at 22-16, the Jets faltered and the Bears regained their grip on the contest.

Bukowski v Mozer today. Bukowski hasn’t started yet. Wynnum are worried they don’t have a 14 to cover him and he can’t go 80 yet so keep him off for 20 minutes and make do.

Both influence their team and the fact Wynnum are already trying to figure out ways for him to be there at the end shows how well he’s going after four games.

I’d like to see him start just to see how long he goes.
