Just got around to watching the Wynnum - Norths game again, wowee didn't Philitoga have an absolute shocker.

Did I read somewhere that the Qld NRL teams are entering reserve grade sides in the QCup from ‘27?

Great day, two great teams. Premiers v Minor Premiers, two best defensive teams.

Norths have won 11 finals in a row back to 2021 and have 11 premiership players in their 17.

Smith 69%-win rate and Burt have 68%-win rate! Two great coaches.

I think Norths but it's not based on much, just that I think they have a better get it done quality, Bears were off last week and not sure if it's just blowing out cobwebs or they are down.

Milson Duncan Hall Medal. Troy Leo two tries.

Bears will want to start better. I wouldn't be shocked if Burt makes a late switch and brings De Luis on right away. It took too long for the Bears to get in the game against the Dolphins, can't afford to make the same mistake against a more experienced sure-handed Devils side.

No Arthars, Karapani or Mariner - it leaves the Bears exposed in the backline. O'Meley and Watson got it done in their previous encounter but the Devils will have surely learned from that.

Shame that Lachlan West isn't available for this game, what's the story there 1910? They're a weaker team without him in the #15.

Two Norths mistakes, two Burleigh tries.

After trying it a thousand times last week, the Christensen flat ball pays dividends. Then Hamilton weighs it up perfectly for Sauiluma to score.

Norths peg one back. Not much the Bears could have done, Tamarua dabs one behind the line, Tumusa beats Watson to the ball and Lipp goes over to score.

10-8 Bears at HT.

Norths nearly score in the dying stages. We've got a game heading into the second half.

Took them a while to confirm it.

I wonder what they were looking at.

Cole Geyer dabs a kick behind, the winger can't clean up and Leo grounds it in the scramble.

Rogers with a big kick from the sideline.

Rogers absolutely nails it!

16-8 with 17 to go.

Pere with another mistake off the kick-off, have the Walker's been moonlighting?

Another unhappy moment there from Kaho, he's been struggling since that blown try to start the second.

That's a terrible mistake from Baker, golden opportunity for the Bears to extend their lead and he just drops it cold.

Devils struggling to apply any pressure here just going all or nothing.

Meanwhile, Hamilton puts in a probing kick, Rogers grabs it and scores.

That should be game 20-8, with an easy conversion to come.

Hamilton has to win the Duncan.

That was a good attacking raid by the Devils, but the Bears scramble was quality. O'Meley has done a wonderful job filling in for Toia.

That's full-time.

Burleigh Bears 22 def. Norths Devils 8

Great game, Bears did what I thought Norths would do and just found a way.

Injury doesn't matter, guys limping around no problems. Coster and Christensen were great. Four tries to one are huge, keeping that Norths team to one try when they've averaged 26 points a game this year.

Koellner was massive, so many huge runs.

Josh Rogers wins the Duncan.

I said Hamilton for the three try assists, but Rogers had some great touches. A try, a line-break, a 40/20, did the majority of the kicking.

There was plenty of competition, the key players really stood up for the Bears.

Bears v Dragons or Warriors in two weeks.

They not doing it on GF day? For some reason I thought it usually was
