Unpopular opinion maybe but I wish milf had really embraced the kicking role that he was playing at the end of 2018. I think Wayne realised that his early speed and evasiveness was all but gone (also he was playing with an injury) and had him kicking more. He kicked several teams to death towards the end of the year. It really annoyed me whenever I heard Seibold say in interviews that Milf just has to run more.

Nulified his running .
He couldn`t run the ball on the 4th after the set up plays because he had to be in position to do his reverse topedo kick . Completly stifled the left side attack .
One reason the #7 is usually the kicker .They aren`t getting tackled with the ball on the 4th tackle ...

I don't just mean the bombs, he had a great short - medium kicking game towards the end of the year.

Yeah but **** me he became so one dimensional... Even Reynolds has a better running game than Milford these days. He just doesn't bother .. absolute plodder.

I'm keen to see how he goes. Looks like he has lost a lot of pudd and muscle. Probably close to his early career weight.

Will be fun watch in cup if he can recapture some form.

Following on from the last couple years I've put together the current progress of roster balance following a post of Big Pete Big Pete a couple years back (here).

What I find interesting is the change in balance from 2020/2022 where there was a lot of youth and inexperience compared to now where we have guys moving through the years into the more experienced area beyond 3 years... 3 years being the league wide average career length.

However, it also shows the amount of time it takes for a development club like the broncos to bring a core group of players through and because of that the veterans and seasoned bands have been quite low, but are building up recently and are made up of guys that have come through over the last 5yrs with more to come. The bolded guys below are still in the squad and it's a nice visual to see their development through the rookie years and beyond.

I also noticed that we seem to struggle keeping guys prior to the 100 game mark, which usually aligns with players entering their prime physical years, but also being pretty well experienced with NRL. There's been noticeable losses in these brackets over the years like Herbie and Flegler recently, but also others like Fifita, Palasia, Ofa, TPJ, Isaako, TMM, Lodge, etc.

There are reasons why some of them have come and gone, but it means broncos spent time getting them through the brackets, but for whatever reason they didn't stay and progress into the seasoned 100+ game bracket with the club.

That can be difficult to manage with a roster.. you have these guys that you've invested time into to get them near 100 games, only for them to leave the club... you then need to replace that experience and in most cases that replacement is youth because we are a development club.

I've looked at the balance of other clubs around the league and you see rorters and panthers have a heavy skew in these 100 gamers area, and to me that's probably the spot that has been lacking over the years for us... and if we are looking to recruit outside of the system then targetting those types of players is probably the spot to look at rather than looking at potential from other clubs and trying to bring them into the system... just go out and get established first graders to supplement the guys coming through... easier said than done though.

Edit: Table probably hard to read so here's a screenshot of spreaddy

Got some Mozer intel for BHQ. (My wife works with his GF.)

Good news. Very likely to re-sign, currently negotiating. He wants to stay. Wouldn't be surprised if it's announced soon'ish once they come to an agreement.

Bad news, his injury is quite bad apparently - could potentially miss the whole season. They are currently debating on whether to go ahead with surgery or not. I know this was sort of "unconfirmed" news already but to hear it from her just re-affirms it.

That sux. 2025 not starting well for us injury wise. At least we have a few back ups in that position.

I have heard it on the grape vine.
Trump is interested in helping the Broncos.....
He knows we like our hookers and he has one in mind.

Apparently the hooker can open a hole so big its easy to score....

I'll see myself out.....

That was so bad it made me laugh.

Well done.
