OFFICIAL 2025 State of Origin - Game I Discussion

1. Walsh
2. Cobbo or arthurs
3. Toia
4. Hammer
5. Coates
6. Munster (last series if he sucks)
7. Dearden
8. Tino
9. Hunt (grant is 40 mins off the bench in origin)
10. Collins
11. Sua
12. Nanai
13. Carrigan

14. Grant
15. Horsborough
16. Cotter (play him in the middle ffs)
17. Jensen (because who else? Better than mo fotuakia, he doesn't win the middle but he also doesn't lose it)

18. Cobbo or arthurs, or maybe ponga, because let's face it, if anyone gets taken out illegally for a free interchange it's a 99% chance it's walsh

Broncos exposed how easy it is to run over Mahony, there's a reason he's been told to leave the dog house.

Fair enough. His was literally the only other Queensland hooker's name that I could think of. Bleak...

I thought Tino was good. He needs to play longer. He made over 120m in 53mins

Yeah, probably would help. Just didn't feel anywhere near as impactful like he has in previous series.

Not really stupid at all. Fifita has size that we lack big time. Billy would never pick him even if he was in good form
He didn't pick him when he was in great form a few years ago. He doesn't like the bloke and he just has a pea heart atm but the size is something they need.

If we're writing off the year, might as well blood the next gen (seriously).

Pick 7 blokes over 30, rest of the squad, 24 or under. (note, this includes the likes of Coates, Dearden etc who are 24)

Finefeuiaki is probably an option too for 20mins. Running hard would be a start. Has size. Fotuaika is a better bench player than starter

I forgot about Jai Arrow. Another dude that Slater just does not seem to like but he has mongrel as a bench guy. You don't always have to be a boy scout. You don't have the option of a spine bailing you out anymore. Pick some of these guys. Loreiro, Collins and Fermor. Yuck. And ffs stop playing cotter as a backrower. Start him at lock and push carrigan into the front row.

Probably won't happen this series but I reckon Sexton is a great halfback option I rate his style of play

Who gives a ****. I hate these sad useless sacks of shits. Toia, Coates and Nanai maroons best tonight, bad ****ing reading for your evening when shit like that happens.

**** Billy off. How about that.

The **** thinks he is too good to pick blokes like Horsburgh.

****ing sick of rugby league at the minute. How hard is it to watch a game where A. I am proud of my teams effort and B. Can’t complain about one sided reffing.

I must be the only one who supports the Maroons and Broncos evenly.

Granted, wasn't the best game tonight and as a spectacle it was flat, but still when Origin is good there's no other game that can compete. I haven't seen a Broncos game in recent memory come anywhere close to Game III '22 for instance.

Maybe I'd understand if the Broncos were playing better, but they're just as guilty for tonight's performance as anyone else. They're propping up the NSW Man of the Match FFS.

'Empty' is probably a pretty accurate description of how I feel about the sport, its administration and officiating at the moment.
Yep. For me it is just an addiction that I can't shake, but does not stimulate me at all anymore beyond the rage-bait kind of hit. The only way would be to somehow up the dose, which is just impossible, and now I am just stuck in the habit of turning it on, or checking the scores, and reminiscing on the good old days. Unfortunately, I think the sport is actually TFG.

Puke at Sexton in a SoO jersey.
We need to explore every option to get Hammer to fullback.
Howarth, when he's back, with Toia as centres, Dearden at 7 and Hammer at 1.
Grant was underdone , Dearden should have come on before hamftime.
Considering we had 39% possession in the first half and all the dumb penalties we gave we were never getting back in it.

We should hand the team to Tom.

Those weirdo Christian dudes always have the hottest wives.
She is something else. Almost as top notch as Mark Nicholls mrs. Yeah I saw the interview about the bible haha. He did admit he was having a beer though so not a complete can of paint.

I must be watching a different dude if we want Hammer at fullback. He is bang average.... at every possession right now.

Everything is so ****ing dire right now... NSWRL won and they'll be sweeping origin soon enough as well
