[2025 Trial] Broncos vs. Bears

I re-watched the 1st half of the game thinking "maybe koellner wasn't that good, just a big body"... and no, he was good. But what was impressed me on the re-watch wasn't the runs or defence, it was that he was an option/decoy/run on EVERY single run past our 40 metre line. It was an incredible show of fitness from such a big body after his 1st nrl preseason. Genuine option if he plays like that again in the next trial, even moreso bcos I read he is actually a 2nd rower too. But let's be honest, it's a whole different ball game up against the nrl boys so he could come crashing back down the pecking order.

Thinking about that origin period with no Patty and Payne...

Leota looks huge and ripped in person! A lot more athletic than last year, was quite impressed with him, philitoga, vaihu and Innes all went well especially the last 2 with limited minutes
I can’t understand for the life of me how jock madden and Tyson smoothy are in the top 30 at our club, they are terrible and offer absolutely nothing, they’ll be gone after this year surely - was disappointed they didn’t give black more than 20 mins and let jock play 60 odd minutes?
All in all I think our outside back stocks are the strongest we’ve had in a very long time
Jett Bryce was awesome I thought, and Antonio verhoven for mal meninga cup was incredible, centre/ back row - good in a time we desperately need back row depth within the coming years
Cobbo who

This trial is usually my guilty pleasure, but I didn't get much joy from this one. I expect we'll face a lot of these names in other jerseys in years to come. There were some NRL standard performances there, but nothing that blew me away.

Obviously Te Kura, Koellner and Leota caught the eye, physically, particularly Leota, but he wasn't really tested under the high ball or in defence.

Jayden Hunt should quit football. He's not a professional.

Yeah Jaiyden Hunt looked like a guy resigned to playing Qcup all year and trying to figure out where the hell his next contract would come from.

Tristan Powell was far better as a second rower in that game
