2026 NRL General Discussion Thread

So much better than that insufferable **** head Brandy and the CTE king Cronk.
Legit this is the best commentary ive heard in ten years and shits all over any of the modern day commentators.

Watched a French stream for one of our matches a little while ago. It was great, because even if they were talking shit about us, I couldn’t understand them so it didn’t matter

I was more curious about the hand signals he was bleating on about.

Actually the media were grubs on that. They reported it as Des blowing up and it was the journalist who chucked a wobbly. His comment about the crowd made no sense in context.

Good on Kev for sticking solid.

Des has a hand signal to indicate to the Titans media man this interview is over get me out.

Allegedly.

The NRL Integrity Unit has reportedly launched an investigation into the Perth Bears after a complaint from the Titans.

It is alleged that their former recruitment chief Ezra Howe used top-secret club information to build a signings hit list for the Bears – while still working for the Titans.

Gold Coast have supplied paperwork to the NRL alleging that Howe used knowledge of the club’s salary-cap position, and contract status and salaries of Titans players, to plot potential signings for the Bears.

In their formal complaint to the NRL, the Titans submitted evidence claiming Howe:

* Forwarded key Titans information from his work address to a personal email account;

* Emailed to himself a letter of offer from the Bears on June 2;

* Told player managers to delay re-signing Titans players in a “go-slow” attempt to divert Gold Coast stars to the Bears.

Howe's formal appointment to the bears is on hold after Perth bosses and NRL authorities were made aware of the allegations.

It is understood Rebecca Frizelle, who took full ownership of the Titans in July, would have terminated Howe had he not personally resigned.

Frizelle said:

“We have notified the NRL,” Frizelle said on Saturday.

“Our lawyers are currently in dialogue with the NRL.

“We have already engaged our lawyers and we are awaiting further advice.

“We are considering our position at this time.”

Bears chief executive Anthony De Ceglie says Howe has no formal position with the NRL’s 18th team.

“Ezra Howe is not an employee of the Perth Bears,” De Ceglie said.

“Any matters involving Ezra Howe and the Gold Coast Titans is a matter between those two parties.”

Meninga and Howe was always the dumbest combination of the year... I hope we get him banned from the game for a good few years the lowlife. Hope Meninga gets grilled on Fox at some point too the absolute worm.

The NRL though... Oh it's the Titans though nothing to see here.

Unfortunately Mal is a protected species on Fox so zero chance he gets grilled. They will probably compliment him on being so tenacious in building the Bears team.

Here’s hoping they sign up your duds and get similar results.

The principle is of course the issue but come on, if he wants to take any of your players, let him!

Are you serious? The fitting punishment would be that The Bears have to sign Howe on a long term deal. Not only does he seem to be the worst recruitment officer in the game if even half of this is true he is a ****ing moron.

I’m not sure why but this video really got me.

This is what footy’s all about

I'm not totally against this idea ... Giving the top 6 a week off before finals will go a long way to stopping the mass restings. Would also be a nice reward for good season's.

Although, teams 7-10 will essentially be making up the numbers as the two teams to make the finals would now have a 5 week finals series

I would rather just give the top 8 a week off before the finals series as the AFL do. That should fix it.
There is still a chance of skullduggery if any of the teams 7 - 10 can't improve their position the week before the so called wildcard playoff.
The other thing is I'm not comfortable with a team finnishing 10th in a 17 team comp getting a finals playoff spot.

Yeah top 8 a week off and throw in some sort of exhibition game made up of the bottom 8 players.

Won't stop restings (especialy by teams guaranteed 7-10). I think just leave it as it is. No fan cares if their team rests players, especially if it gives them a better chance of going deep into the finals.
