2026 NRL General Discussion Thread

I just checked.

#1 is Canberra vs. Brisbane FW1.

Not sure what the deal is, I can't download #6. However going in if FW1 was off the table I would have thought R17 Panthers vs. Bulldogs for the purists.

Second guess would have been Round 11 Bulldogs vs. Roosters. Back and forth game and Nawaqanitawase scores one of the best solo tries of the year.

I don't think it had much competition until the GF.
They had it at 6 tho! So what goes on with that??? Did they have a typo on the count down numbers?

@Sproj the GF was like 9th 🙄

Fair enough I suppose. It didn’t have any last minute twists and turns like the Mudgee, FW1 and PF did.

Funny that only three teams were involved in the best three games of the year.

Love it.

Reading an article about rules the Aussies want clarification on before the Ashes and I came across this rule they use in the SL ... I didn't know it was a thing, but we should get in in the NRL asap

"the Green Card rule here in England, any player who feigns injury is marched from the field for two minutes."

The only issue is how do you determine if a player is feigning injury? I have seen some tackles that have looked innocuous but it ended up the player being out of action for a good few weeks.

It's usually pretty easy to tell when someone is milking. They're probably better at detecting in over there too because of too the football bullshit diving.

It won't be able to be a black and white rule ... And may be something that can be assigned to the independent doctor to make those calls.

But it should hopefully stop the blatant one where the player stays down looking at the ref, pretty much refusing to play the ball until a penalty is blown...

Or the one where the player carries on like a pork chop on the ground ... Then bounces straight back to their feet once they get the penalty

To save any confusion, why not just rule that a player who acts injured needs to leave the field and get checked and even if the doc says he's fine he needs to stay off for 5 minutes.

Anyone who acts like a pork chop then knows they're gonna have to leave the field. That will soon put a stop to the bullshit acting.

I'd rule anyone who complains of a crusher or a head high and refuses to play the ball until the bunker rules on it needs to go off straight away and wait 5 minutes regardless of what the bunker rules.

This is what it would be. If you're legitimately injured, you need to be checked anyway. If you're faking, it's a punishment for wasting everyone's time.

Kyle Feldt got a green card after he played down claiming a high shot and it clearly missed him.

Maybe the refs and bunker might get involved and stop the diving.

That works too.

I think my post was more too point out that there is a comp that has taken a stance on diving and the NRL should follow suit.
