2026 NRL Player Movements & Rumours

Contract extension talks have broken down between the Eels and Ronald Volkman. Rivals have been notified that he intends to leave Parramatta at the end of the season when his contract expires.

in other news the Eels are reportedly the most likely destination for Luai in 2027
Ryles loving these 1 year gap years.

Re Volkman I'm guessing parra tried to lowball, but Volkman trying to leverage the fact that he's actually been able to step on the field into a better deal.... so probably not far off Shiba and Broncos

Media... TALKS HAVE BEEN SLAMMED !!!

Luai is leaving the Tigers at the end of the season.

Contracted for '27 but won't be there next year.. And this after the NSW media praised the hell out of him for not doing what Galvin did and leaving the club before the end of his contract.

I wonder what they're going to say about it now.

Everything I've heard has said that the club has told Luai he can look around unless that's changed? As in it's coming from the club, not Luai. They're trying to retain some of their young talent, the Fainu brothers I think, so they need to free up some funds.

not NRL related anymore but Kyle Feldt will make his Australian rules football debut on Saturday after signing with the Thuringowa Bulldogs for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Feldt and St Helens agreed to a mutual release at the end of June

I'm not really sure why they would bother signing Feldt TBH. Thuringowa have won the last 4 AFL Townsville premierships and are currently undefeated in 2026 after 10 rounds

How's the diving in AFL @Sproj ?

Luai will reportedly join Parramatta in 2027.

Parramatta seem to love these 12 month stop gaps in the 6 jersey

Reports that the Storm were given the green light to sign Lomax by Parramatta, who still hold the rights to the former NSW and Australian player for another 12 months.

Howarth would then have moved to the Eels as part of the deal but it fell over when the Storm were told that Lomax had no desire to break his contract with the Western Force and was committed to another year in rugby union.

Stoopid Lomax; the NRL world has moved on from him so quickly that you forget he was an Origin player last year!

Reports today that the reason the Tigers have agreed to release Luai a year early is that Luai will earn $3 million worth of tax free third party deals through the Chiefs and those commitments are said to start next season, a year before he joins the club from 2028.

“(Journalist Peter Badel) has done a ringaround today and found out that Jarome basically stands to earn about $3 million over the next four years in third party deals in Papua New Guinea,” Code Sports’ Brent Read explained on NRL360.

“He’s got to service those deals. You have to earn that money so it’ll mean that next year when he’s at the Eels, he’ll have to go to PNG and carry out some commitments even though he’s playing at Parramatta.”

Eels must be desperate.
Doesn't make sense...
But oh well....
They must have their reasons.

Maybe NRL overlords have offered something...

Absolutely smart move from Benji and good for the Tigers. I like what he’s doing at the Tigers & they won’t be a bottom 4 team going forward. They deserve it.
