Billy reckons he won't be back until Round 16, and expects he'll need some fitness time in Cup. He's thinking he might team up with his brother Harry at the Magpies.
 
Our Title defence reportedly is likely to start on Friday, March 6 at Lang Park
 
I think one of the things they may have brought smith in for is to guide the leaders as to how to keep the team motivated to achieve success.

It is easy to have the hunger to win that first premiership, but it has been shown to be harder for following years (except for penrith recently).

Smith had a lot of success but continued to work hard throughout his career to sustain it.

Why change anything if winning a premiership the year before means it’s not needed? You should be applauding the club for continuing to evolve and not getting complacent after a GF

I’m all for improving and not standing still, I’m just used to 20 years of this bloke screwing us over. Hey if he helps in one small way I’ll get on board.

I just don’t trust him, probably never will. That said, hopefully he learned to sign two contracts in a more concealed way and can bring that skill with him.

Madge has stated in an article down here this morning that Smith will also be a sounding board for the coaching staff. Expects him to be in and out of the club and dressing room but his role with the club will "grow over time".

Madge's wife and Smith's wife also best friends so that played a part in him agreeing to join.

so 15 days between games... yeah the WCC won't impact us at all
