The whole Media's hate for Madge is quite simple really, if you view it from the mindset of an NRL Journalist.
It ties to 3 actions from the last 18 Months.
First - Madge quit the NSW Blues Origin Team.
"He was the Chosen one."
He was going to create a real dynasty based on true blue NSWRL Übermensch players, not a fake one like those two-headed, inbred bogan QLDers lucked into by having Lockyer, Cronk, Thurston and Cam Smith.
Obviously those players were all born in NSW and adopted by QLD families, their Birth Certificats all being forged is the only explanation.
Second - He went to the Broncos and WON!
Allowing that team into the Comp back in 1988 was the NSWRL's greatest ever mistake and then he Coaches them to their first Trophy in 19 years.
How could he do this.
Third - Payne leaving will be the biggest Contract story of the year and no one knew untill it was over.
We Journalist are a necessity, we are supposed to have the inside scoop so we can drip feed it to the Plebs over Days and Weeks because they are obviously too stupid to understand anything without us teling them how to think and feel.
Rugby League would be nothing without us.
The average NRL Journalist in this Country is on the same rung as a Real Esate Agent.
You dont hate them enough.

Read is to Storm what Crawley is to Bennett.
He always defends the storm, so in that way he has to hate on broncos.
He must be getting some serious kick backs from Tripp with some of the defences he'll put up for them.
I think even Gordie has classed he's no longer a qlder

Quite a bold call from Read given the last NRL match Maguire coached was a Grand Final victory lol. Gotta be the dumbest "coach under pressure" agenda in NRL history, and given his downward trajectory I'm not surprised it came form Brent Read.
