He only got 20 minutes. But he was alright.

How was Brady Turner
I don't think you can look at it that way.So he's 21? Surely he is at an age where he should be hitting NRL?
I don't think you can look at it that way.
Turner came to the Broncos through the Bears system. He impressed in the NRLQ and earned himself an opportunity to train at the Broncos. He's only just cracked the Queensland Cup now. Realistically you wouldn't be expecting much if anything until he's 23.
That's different to me than Waqa and Shibasaki who have been involved in an NRL system for years and still finding their way.
Surely though some of these kids coming through need to start showing decent progression, otherwise what's the point of a pathways system if it isn't producing ready to go kids? What is it that North Queensland Redcliffe are doing WAY better than us so that they have a pipeline in place?
I know people often mention Redcliffe having the pathway from junior to senior but NQ doesn't have this. The Titans also seem to be pumping out kids into the NRL system. They had all 13 starters come through their system for example last week or whatever and they also have the same contraints as us. What is it we are seemingly doing so wrong compared to the four other Qld teams (Storm included)?
This is bit of an overreaction over a colt player making their debut, don't you think?Surely though some of these kids coming through need to start showing decent progression, otherwise what's the point of a pathways system if it isn't producing ready to go kids? You love doing lists, so have a look at our full strength team. You'd be able to count on one hand the number of players that didn't come through our pathways system
We'll you're comparing apples and oranges since you only talked about the starting 13 from the Cowboys.Ok:
2. Karapani
7. Reynolds
9. Walters
8. Jensen
16. Talty
17. Tawha
18. Anderson
Wider squad:
Hoeter
Perham
Rogers
Arthars
Bradley
Duffy
Gosiewski
Junt
Piki
So over 50% of our squad.

Also at full strength Tawha wouldn't be in the game day 19 (Anderson may not be either, although he could possibly take Shibasaki's sport or be the outside back on the extended bench)
BHQ seems to have a few members that would fit in well with the rugby league media![]()
Weeks maybe.Sure is but I've been pretty consistent over a number of years on my thoughts on our R&R team wouldn't you agree?
Weeks maybe.
Not years.
Why? Do I want to count all the contradictions?Check my post history.
Why? Do I want to count all the contradictions?
Sure, I contradict myself, I'm pretty sure everyone does but on this point, I have been very consistent.
Look if you don't want to engage in conversation about this point, just don't. Pretty simple. No need to take unnecessary pot shots, you of all posters are better than this.
I didn't see Turner, but I guess he falls closer into that discussion about dedicated reserve grade teams and Sydney clubs and their reserve grade setups. The conversation is about Brady Turner. His performance on debut doesn't warrant another rant about the Broncos recruitment.
I'm trying to steer the conversation on track. Turner's career progression has absolutely nothing to do with your post history.
So if we take the NSW Cup, when a club has a player in reggies they want to invest long term in, what they'll often do is give them a three year contract where the final year is a dev deal. If they're happy to sign that, the player signals their commitment and what usually happens is that they'll work towards an upgrade.I didn't see Turner, but I guess he falls closer into that discussion about dedicated reserve grade teams and Sydney clubs and their reserve grade setups.
It sounds like he was off the radar, but he might be a late bloomer?
What will broncos options be moving forward?
I'm assuming the hope would keeping him on a T&T, but he's in Burleigh so what happens if titans or dophins come knocking and throw a top 30 or dev deal at him because they have a spare spot.
