POST GAME 2026 State of Origin

Huge pressure on Cleary with Moses out. If NSW lose the series with Cleary, Moses could take it off his hands for good next year, or even move onto Katoa.

A real reason to get excited this origin period.
FYI there was way more maroon snakes than blue ones in the bag

for Sam Walker to live up to the hype, he's going to have to play a 15 out of 10 game.

I started off seeing stories comparing him to Alfie, saying that he'll be as good as Alfie ... then I saw a stories that has quoted Ben Walker as saying he Sam is more naturally talented that Alfie

He didn't say that at all.

“It wasn’t so much for Sam to play like Alf,” Ben says. “Our family loves how Alf played, but I didn’t teach Sam at five years old to be Alf.

“I debuted outside Alf, I played five-eighth outside him.

“Because we were fortunate enough to play with him, a lot of what Sam does now has been influenced through people we watched and played with and Alf was a huge part of that.

“No disrespect to Alf, but Sam’s far more polished with his skills.

“Alf was so unorthodox with his passing and his kicking, but he was incredibly effective for what he did.

100% Sam is more polished and correct than Alf- that doesn't mean better or more talented or even more effective, but Alf had his own style of tackling, running and passing that was all awkward and his.

That's in every sport and what makes sport great, Lara had a horrible back lift that you'd never tell anyone to do.

I'm sure by game day the numbers will show the opposite but genuinely think fans would be more engaged if Reece Walsh was selected at fullback and Slater went with Ponga at 7.

No Trell for NSW hurts as well.

Feel like this campaign is all about Cleary cementing himself in this arena. He won in 2018 and 2021 but he still needs a 2003 and 2005 before he can challenge Joey.

Klown will make sure of it... it's what Sydney want

I'm not sure I'm going to even bother watching this crap, I've not been paying much attention to the sport outside Broncos games however a work mate just mentioned to me that Klown is reffing and Gee is in the Bunker, oh my.......... what a 'dynamic' duo. :vom:

I just don't think I can do it....................so over it.

The QLD kicking game concerns me a lot. I hope Grant kicks out of dummy half a fair bit. I know that isn't his strength but we will need to find a way to get the ball down the field.

I think Ethan Strange will really thrive at Origin level. He is a danger man IMO.

I just remember game 1 last year, I watched the pre-match coverage and it had me pretty keyed up to watch. Then he blew a penalty or something in the first set. Just took the wind out of the whole thing for me. I'll still watch, I can't help myself but I'll likely just have it on in the background.

The NSWRL Digest knows what's up.

Anasta on 360 talking about how Strange will allow Cleary to have complete control of the team...

So he didn't have it in previous years? When his halves partner was Luai, the player he won 4 premierships with, he wasn't in control of the team then?

Seems like they're doing everything they can to make excuses for him. He's had the running of the side for years and so far has failed to live up to expectations.

Every chance Laurie runs out the panthers structure in this game

Yeo first receiving to Cleary on both sides
Teddy on the right
Strange on the left

His poor partner I feel very sorry for them. Imagine waking up and seeing this first thing in the morning. 🤢🤮

If I recall the immortal had to play hooker in his early days .
A #7 named Kimmorely was NSW #7 .

The "immortal " tried to start a fight at a scrum and got the shit punched out of him by Kobe`s dad .
