Yeah I can't understand that call at all. It is a massive over-reaction to him getting out-leapt by Jojo Fifita, one time.

"It's not about being tall", but then goes on to list reasons why it's an advantage to be tall.

I loved Laurie as a player, but I think he's ruining his status in the game by coaching.

He might as well just come out and said "It's not about being tall, it just about not being short".
 
Just a reminder to those looking to catch public transport to the game from Varsity Lakes - trains were supposed to be completely down for 3 weeks on Gold Coast line. I was at the train station this morning and was going to get the bus up here, but for whatever random reason, this morning there was a train there. So it really looks to be .. a try your luck on the day kinda thing. Probably best to call translink Wednesday morning for any updates.

Problem is he’d make an even worse commentator. Obviously wants to be part of the sport still though. Could be a good assistant for Ricky.

He was talking to Cam Smith about trying to influence refs during the game.

Cam basically said that his comments to the ref were never about trying to get them to overturn a decision, but make them think twice about making the same decision next time
 
Pretty pumped. Will be attending. In a no alcohol section so will be doing my best work before the game. What is the best pub/place to get a feed/drink before the game in the vicinity of the stadium?

Caxton is not low-key in my experience. The place gets packed out, even before and after broncs games. That was 15 yrs ago mind you. SOO the place goes off it’s tits, as in you have to wait up to 5 mins in line to get a beer.

I’m half inclined to believe @1910 was trolling you, to ruin your evening. Either that or he owns shares in the place. If you want low-key then Caxton is not the answer.
 
They used to make the buses with all the origin players drive down Caxton before the game. The nsw bus used to get pelted.
