POST GAME 2026 State of Origin

Speaking on Nine’s coverage, Brad Fittler claimed the Bunker found he had not touched the ball after an analysis of a corner-post camera, which was not shown on the broadcast.

But the NRL said the Bunker had every angle available.

“There were no additional angles that didn’t go to air that would have shed any more light on the decision,” the NRL spokesperson told the Courier Mail.

“There is a corner post shot, but it doesn’t clarify anything.

“The bottom line is the bunker had all the angles that were available.”

So Freddy just flat out lied... shocked!!

Good to know that commentators will happily lie to the viewers to suit whatever narrative they're trying to spin

So... did officials mis-inform Fittler for him to have said that? Or was he running protection for the NRL off his own bat?

With the NRL now worth multiple billions in broadcasting rights, we are forgetting the other people who stand to win big out of this - the media personalities. You can bet that their contracts will now be increasing considerably, and they will each be doing everything they can to make sure they stay relevant and in the good graces of the NRL. Last night was like a Trump-bootlicking wankfest where it seems everyone tried to have their turn to get in a comment on why Cleary should be considered the Goat.

100% there needs to be an investigation into this but it'll get swept under the rug. Either someone told Fittler to say that the vision came "from the corner post", or he just made it up. But now it comes out that the bunker didn't have any vision other than what was broadcast. But the bunker was also out of play due to technical issues and there were allegedly two refs in a truck near the stadium doing it instead?

Talk about not being able to get a story straight! This has got to be the most asterisk'd series in Origin history, what a ****ing farce. They have shot the golden goose. There would have been tens of millions of dollars riding on bets lastnight...

Corrupt.

So was last night the 3rd year straight that the underdog team won the decider away from home...

Someone is probably making a killing with the bookies

At halftime when Munster was talking to the ref halfway through the conversation 9cut the mic feed too, only caught the first half of the conversation.

Munster got bitched out by Klein at halftime. Had a whole script planned and got cut off and said **** all. Klein should have let him speak, but of course had to get his word in. Why bother having captains when they're not even allowed to talk?

I don't think we can have Sam Walker as our halfback TBH. We need a decent long kicking game to survive in Origin.

I think there would be an investigation if A. people didn't expect this sort of incompetence / corruption to occur and B. people cared about origin anymore.

Basically, at the end of the day, the record will show NSW won it and Cleary got gifted future immortality and that is all that matters for the NSWRL.

Probably drop some unknown official though as the scapegoat and the NRL moves on and Klein continues to ref the big games without question.

This is why I don't care about this sport anymore, its run by idiots who want to turn it into WWE, which is a 'sport' I couldn't care less about.

Probably as flat as Queensland performance as I can remember. Things just never looked right. Walker sitting with his head in his hands in the sheds before the game was a massive red flag.

30 missed tackles in the first half, Blues 62% of the ball in the first 20 minutes.

It just snowballed; they needed points so had to use Walsh and Jeremiah- and they did create chances, but mistakes came from that too.

Qld played like they were up 2-0, not a decider. Something went wrong.
Should have been 2-0. We all know that , Dare say complacency played a part ..

With the Origin bunker debacle. Maybe just revert to 3 views from different angles at full speed. Nothing obvious spotted just go with the ref's on field call and move on. This multiple views often over and over in slow motion are just plain boring and if the bunker officials till can't get it right what's the point? More often than not it looks like they are trying to find some reason not to award a try as some teams get tries examined in forensic detail and others they have two quick looks and move on.
