A critical analysis of player turnover

Good. We have way too many backrowers, Tronc is a good forward who can add to our forward pack. Now just add Hannant or Lima (who I think is also off contract) and we won't be pushovers next year like we seem to be atm.

Setu has provided absolutely nothing since his arrival, can't remember him even having a good game besides 20 second bursts here and there.

The article doesn't make it very clear, If Setu is released does that mean Tronc could be lining up for us next week or is at a 2011 thing? It would be awesome to get him NOW, we desperately need an experienced prop and if my memory serves me right I remember Tronc would always get good metres and was good in defence not that I saw much of his games.

On face value, not really a fan of this decision either. It seems as though those in charge or our playing roster make hasty judgements. I'm guessing part of the reason for this is the emergence of Gillette over the opening rounds of the season. Yes he has played well, however most sensible league followers would reserve their judgement untill the end of the season, something that IMO Broncos staff have not done.

Most players need years to develop into a consistent first grader. Kenny, Stagg, Thaiday and Parker are recent examples of this from our own system. These guys all struggled in their first few seasons in first grade, but persistence and long term planning saw them reach their potential and develop into integral members of our team. It seems as though our current philosophy is that if you can't manage it within a season then you are dead wood.

The guy is laden with potential and IMO would have wanted to stay as he did come here solely for family purposes. A season is not enough to justify cutting someone this talented.

Good move on the Tronc front, however I believe we had money to play with before the release of Setu anyway.
