It was about time someone spoke out.

http://www.nrl.com/news/news/newsar.../henjak-says-give-izzy-a-fair-go/default.aspx

IH only mentions the illegal plays to stop Folau, which obviously reached a peak against the dragqueens. But I get the feeling we haven't been getting the raw end of the referreing because we don't speak up, and unfortunately, if you don't, the refs feel more "comfortable" to err against us... [icon_non
I feel the Broncos should have made some noise after that disgraceful decision on the Yow Yeh no try against the Panthers. Who knows, it might have been enough to get us a penalty on that play the ball that gave the game to the Tigers? [icon_shru

Makes you wonder if the refs don't give a shit about Izzy cause he is leaving and are trying to blunt his game.
It really gives me the shits when it happens cause you know if it was happening to Jarryd Hayne we would never hear the end of it. One of the most awesome sights in RL is to see big Izzy flying high and we dont see it at all these days. Hate to think what it would've been like next year if he stayed and the NRL did nothing.

That made me angry, everytime a kick was in the air for Izzy to get it, the dragons ran in front of him and didn't even try to get the ball. How the hell could they let that go on all game. I friggin' hate the refs/NRL sometimes. Any other team and it would've been made a big deal.

We need to be a bit more creative with the kicks to Izzy if they're just gonna keep running him off the ball.

Instead of the big wide kick to the open wing, why not try and work towards the sideline and kick for him to the blindside ? He could just be loitering around behind the play-the-ball ..... the opposition wouldn't think anything special would be happening with him there.

Dammit ... i'm gonna head down to Broncs training and have a yak with Ivan [icon_wink

agreed. it seemed a bit more like a last resort than a planned move for many of the kicks on sunday. just put it up there and hope izzy gets it. bit more planning and creativity needed i think.

Agreed, there were at least two occasions where the kick wasn't on yet we resorted to it.

The first and last though it was definitely on and both times Hornby got in the way of Folau.

Yup. I see nothing wrong with booting it up there 30m out or whatever because there is nothing wrong but he is definitely getting checked on the way in. Not ALL the time - but enough for it to be noticeable. I don't think its coached TBH - just human instinct.

Hell no, it's clearly coached!
Hornby and Cooper ran interference all night, while Brett Morris went for the ball. The ploy was clear from the first kick when Folau was blatantly pushed by Hornby and the crowd reacted because no penalty was blown.
Not that I blame Bennett or any other coach to try to limit Izzy's aerial capability, because giving him free reign is almost like starting a game 2 tries behind, but if it's illegal the refs have to act!

Potential penalty v's try + possible conversion, its definately coached.

Yeah it's coached, the Cowboys coach said he was going to use the same tactics as the Dragons from the last game. It's breaking the rules and should be a penalty!

will be some biffo on friday night and this will be one of the contributing factors.

One can only hope. Broncos team mates need to stick up for Izzy if the refs are not. Surely then they will notice.

The cooper ones perhaps but Hornby's one I'm not so sure... I mean you're running for the ball you see Izzy - who knows?

Obviosuly the coaches make the players AWARE of Folau's runs and no doubt watch the line he is running in the video session...
