Pretty much, there is going to be no one on Nine or Fox calling out their own gravy train deals, the more incompetent the deal is the more they will talk him up.Anyone with half a brain could tell the Vlandys deal was terrible, unfortunately the media massively benefitted so of course the parties to it praise him and the idiots running clubs probably got a bribe too so they don’t call it out. In any case, this AFL deal highlights how bad Vlandys is for this sport, but man, he got that two weeks early re-start he can rest his laurels on forever.
Apparently with Redcliffe coming in, the NRL wanted to get a bit more money for the deal so for a small upgrade Fox was willing to do it as long as more Broncos games were on Exclusive Fox slots(this is why we have had much more games that were not on Nine)this is a weak deal for the NRL since they are only bringing value by having more games but somehow negotiated themselves into an even deal.
This helps Foxtel get more viewers but hurts us as less eyeballs on our games which in turn hurts our sponsorship value, but since we are owned by Newscorp they don't give a **** since the media arms benefit outweighs our clubs negative.
Oh boy how I wish someone bought us from these leeches.
