NEWS Andrew McCullough’s complicated contract a headache for Broncos

What yeas did you play again?

Kinda curious, were you upset that McGuire, Kahu, and Kodi were asked to move on? What about Bennett? Or is this just a Macca thing?

Should we just keep any long serving players just because they are ...erm..."club legends"?

Or would you like to see the team grow and succeed and compete in Grand finals?

If week 1\2\3 then getting knocked out is good enough for you then I understand your p.o.v, but most real fans want to see us challenging on the bigstage in October.

All I can say is you all suck! And you lot have no understanding of loyalty & Yous obviously don't give a rat's about our players? We get pissed off with players who jump ship to chase the dollars. And supporters like you lot are showing your true colours when it comes to our boys.

It makes me both angry & sad reading the crap you have all written about a club legend!
If Andrew wants to leave I'll take back what I just wrote otherwise you lot that say get rid of him or move on, should be ashamed to call yourselves Broncos supporters

The NRL needs to bring in a loyalty dispensation for players like Andrew, clubs have a vested interest in keeping players like McCullough who the loyal fans love.
And the NRL should do more to make sure they stay at the one club, and they know this.
So Greenberg & Co get ya shit sorted

Nice trolling...

Loyalty was dead years ago champ. Long term one club players are as rare as hens teeth in the modern game. The best thing the club has done this year is get rid of the entitlement of the players. Just because some of the players we have moved on have been here their entire careers doesn’t entitle them to be paid good money for their rest of their careers if they are not performing to a required standard or do not provide the club with their best chance of winning games.

Want to know how to avoid all this talk if you are a current player? Prepare well, have a go every week, play to your potential and evolve your game as your career develops and this doesn’t become an issue

I think he is a hindrance to the team, not a help.

This is going to be the biggest talking point of our season in the media once he is fit to return mark my words.

You can tell the media pundits, especially the ones close to him, have tried to sugar coat his role and performances out of respect to him all season. But now that they’ve seen what Turps and Segeyaro provide, you can see them finally open up and give an honest view about our dummy half play which gives them an indirect shot at Macca without actually saying it.

That is why I can’t wait to see what the media identities say when Macca is available for selection again.

I think it's going to be a case of paying out half of his contract if another club is going to take him. At 250k a year Macca would be a steal for some teams.

Macca would suit the Brisbane titans perfectly

Macca can play 15 from the bench and if he can't win it for us in the last 15, that's his last chance.

Please no more Macca. I deadset don't ever want to see him in the 9 jersey again. He can stick around as depth if he wants to take his contract option up.

I think he'd suit Penrith. Even he would be a big upgrade on Katoa.

My rant was not just a McCullough thing it was a rant in general about players who have provided outstanding service to the club but when it starts going South a lot of outsiders/supporters seem to think they don't fit the team style anymore, and want to move them on.

As I said if he wants to go then good luck to him, but don't push when he still has a lot of good footy left. Well I'd like to think so?

In regards to the other players mentioned you better believe I was pissed off that they where forced out (maybe not so much McGuire). As for Kodi it was a crying shame but we all knew that are 6 & 7 didn't work well together! Weather or not because they play a similar style I don't know? I'm not in the purple circle of the Broncos.
I can only go on what I see on field & read about. I'm still angry that the King was booted back when.

As for Mr Bennett if there was ever a club legend then he is a walk up. Should put a statue next to the King, the guy he booted[emoji23]

The club totally did the wrong thing by Wayne Bennett. But if we know anything it's that Wayne is a master at subterfuge. The club as in board & management f**ked up in the way it all went down.

I guess I'm just a proud Broncos supporter (like everyone else who posts on here) I remember when it wasn't such a mess. Players were loyal, clubs valued that & stuck by them (as a rule), not saying it happened for every single player.
(Just saying before someone decides to say what about ? back in 19??)

Anyways the boys are starting to get a role on and we will be in the mix come September/October.
Broncos v Bunnys GF how good would it be[emoji1360]

It's definitely a rant if I've ever seen one.

Its not really a complicated situation.

We say macca we are moving on without you, you may stick around if you wish but you will be playing q cup. If he wants to take the money he is entitled to do so, but will also underline his ambition.

How long have you been watching the bronco's for?

Hate to break it to you, champ. But we have always moved players on a year early, rather than a year.

It's part of what built this great club.

Only in recent times have we become a bleeding heart charity case, precisely because of faulty logic like yours.

If macca is the best option he plays and gets extended even. If he's not, he should be going. The guy has never been a winner his whole career, hard to see him turning it around now.

What is Einstein’s definition of insanity again?

That is what we experienced under Bennett, second time around. Regardless of ‘service’ players needed to move on. Grandpa Wayne wasn’t prepared to do it, in fact he did the complete opposite clearly pushing for strange recruitment decisions that are biting us on the arse now and for years to come...

The club had become stale, complacent, distinctly lacking in ruthlessness compared to the top clubs and sliding further and further down the pecking order.

Something had to be done. We were not on a path towards a premiership, we were heading the other way.

That course may or may not have been corrected with these changes, but something had to be tried. For the good OF the club...
