NEWS Andrew McCullough’s complicated contract a headache for Broncos

He wouldn't be leaving, he'd be staying and getting paid. What the 95% (apparently) are doing are being selfish, they're thinking how it affects them or doing a Sir Gallahad and defending the honour of the Broncos. What this 95% aren't doing is seeing it from McCullough's perspective and that's where I differ from most. I imagine I'm Macca and were it I, I'd say **** you all, give me what was promised and for once in your miserable lives live up to your side of the deal. I'd say both parties signed a contract in good faith and now one party wants to change things because it now suits them. Well fine but don't expect me(Macca speaking) to bend over for you. Pay me or offer recompense because I was prepared to do my part and you want to change, okay pay for that privilege. It's high time contracts regained meaning.
Dude. No

Come on man, that's clutching at straws. Experience of not throwing a pass that probably wins a GF? Experience of throwing passes all over the place when the game is on the line? And are you saying Macca only ever gives away 'smart' penalties?

That's not all he's clutching. Macca has great experience of taking us to the bottom of the table, meanwhile his replacement(s) has us in the Eight next week.

All I can say is you all suck! And you lot have no understanding of loyalty & Yous obviously don't give a rat's about our players? We get pissed off with players who jump ship to chase the dollars. And supporters like you lot are showing your true colours when it comes to our boys.

It makes me both angry & sad reading the crap you have all written about a club legend!
If Andrew wants to leave I'll take back what I just wrote otherwise you lot that say get rid of him or move on, should be ashamed to call yourselves Broncos supporters

The NRL needs to bring in a loyalty dispensation for players like Andrew, clubs have a vested interest in keeping players like McCullough who the loyal fans love.
And the NRL should do more to make sure they stay at the one club, and they know this.
So Greenberg & Co get ya shit sorted
Na

My rant was not just a McCullough thing it was a rant in general about players who have provided outstanding service to the club but when it starts going South a lot of outsiders/supporters seem to think they don't fit the team style anymore, and want to move them on.

As I said if he wants to go then good luck to him, but don't push when he still has a lot of good footy left. Well I'd like to think so?

In regards to the other players mentioned you better believe I was pissed off that they where forced out (maybe not so much McGuire). As for Kodi it was a crying shame but we all knew that are 6 & 7 didn't work well together! Weather or not because they play a similar style I don't know? I'm not in the purple circle of the Broncos.
I can only go on what I see on field & read about. I'm still angry that the King was booted back when.

As for Mr Bennett if there was ever a club legend then he is a walk up. Should put a statue next to the King, the guy he booted[emoji23]

The club totally did the wrong thing by Wayne Bennett. But if we know anything it's that Wayne is a master at subterfuge. The club as in board & management f**ked up in the way it all went down.

I guess I'm just a proud Broncos supporter (like everyone else who posts on here) I remember when it wasn't such a mess. Players were loyal, clubs valued that & stuck by them (as a rule), not saying it happened for every single player.
(Just saying before someone decides to say what about ? back in 19??)

Anyways the boys are starting to get a role on and we will be in the mix come September/October.
Broncos v Bunnys GF how good would it be[emoji1360]
"outstanding service"
Hahaha if every I'd seen a trolling before

How long have you been watching the bronco's for?

Hate to break it to you, champ. But we have always moved players on a year early, rather than a year.

It's part of what built this great club.

Only in recent times have we become a bleeding heart charity case, precisely because of faulty logic like yours.

If macca is the best option he plays and gets extended even. If he's not, he should be going. The guy has never been a winner his whole career, hard to see him turning it around now.

Your funny Champ[emoji1360]

I don't really agree with a lot of that but I do like the reply, it is well argued. Well done. :)

I think a lot of Turpin's penalties are poor, I agree but I also think they come from over enthusiasm. I also think what Turpin offers in tackling pressure, game awareness and service quality far outweighs the penalty-negative.
Turpins service might be faster but its more inaccurate than McCullough's. He makes the person catching the ball jump or spin to catch pretty often. I think Turpin's service is overrated slightly and Macca's is underrated (Until the last 20 minutes of a game). I'm not really saying anything bad about Turpin though and in my opinion I've never given him unwarranted criticism. All I've ever said is he didn't earn his starting spot in Q Cup as he was playing terribly for Redcliffe (I actually watched a few games) and that he gives away stupid penalties. With a team full of dummies we need less of that from our spine players.

I have enjoyed watching Turpin but I have to wonder why he doesn’t seem to play this well in ISC. It just seems odd.

This never happened. Also how do you watch the games and come in here and say with a straight face that Turpin is the catalyst for us being in the 8 now? By doing so you're not taking into account the rest of the team actually starting to perform well as the season goes on, as well as the quality of opposition we've faced since having the hardest start of the season out of all the teams. The entire team couldn't defend and couldn't hold onto the ball and now they are, but you're giving all the credit to Turpin? You're a joke

Are you implying Macca mightn't be good enough to play ISC?

Some people are like that. They thrive under pressure or the big stage. Anyone who’s played sport knows of a time they lifted their performance if they get moved up to A grade. Same thing happens in Origin. Gagai is a prime example

Turps obviously is excited to get his shot, and playing around better players lifts people almost by default

Turpin's service has been getting better each week IMO. The 10 minutes in the 2nd half before he got subbed was really high quality especially. Really quick, got it to players on the run, cut out passes, quick spread from one side of the field to the other, etc etc.

I wasn’t implying anything. You need to stop inserting Macca into every post. I simply wondered why Turpin struggles in ISC but plays well in the NRL.

Remind me again who this thread is about?

Bennett was preparing the players to eventually be able to try something different. He couldn't name 17 year olds at halfback. He signed a contract giving him time to do it but was sacked before getting the opportunity to utilise the younger players he was preparing. I don't know what more to say about this. When Seibold loses it's Wayne's fault, when he wins its all Seibold. It's just a really dishonest and argument filled with ridiculous double standards.

Rubbish, yes Dearden was 17, but he had other halfbacks in the club. He COULD have played Turpin, never did. He could have dropped Roberts etc, but never did.

It’s not ‘dishonest’ it’s the furtherest thing from it. It is straight up fact. Wayne didn’t try anything when his team kept performing poorly, he doubled-down on his way.

The post was clearly about Turpin and he is relevant to any discussion about Macca. It wasn’t even particularly critical of Turpin but brought up something different about him. Every week in threads about games that weekend you bring up Macca despite him not playing at the moment so maybe you should pull your head in. I really hope Seibs picks Macca as soon as he’s fit just to make you cry.

EDIT: No insults
