We need to start treasureing the value of posession and field position. We talk about our stilted attack, but a lot of it stems from being starved possession.
Allowing our opponents to wear down our forward pack by turning them into tackling machines really is at the heart of our problems. We get caught too often in a cycle of repeat sets, feeding into poor field position that leads to.....repeat sets.
Sometimes it can't be avoided, but there are times when some awareness by our spine of some touch finders, dummy half runs etc after some exhaustive defence is needed, but sadly is missing.
I'm tired of 5th tackle options where our halves choose to run without a plan "b" kicker. It needs to stop!
