Ashley Klein is a corrupt dud

What an awful call.

Taumalolo gets driven back, Elliott wins the tackle, Taumalolo interferes with Elliott in the ruck and wins the penalty.
Hilarious. Other times they can't scream milking or get up enough, that one they just give a set restart lol. Looking at the comments, was it correct that it was a late tackle set restart too? That's even worse.

It would have been third tackle.

Came off the back of an error from South Sydney.

That's so gross. Exactly why I didn't watch a single minute of footy all weekend, and the only footy I'll watch this weekend is our game. I just don't care anymore, it's clearly manipulated and at that point I'm out.

Let the 13 blokes on the field in the coloured jerseys determine the winner ffs, that is the very basis of every sport in the world.

But but but, think of the betting agencies!

I wasn't paying attention but heard Vossy or whoever was on be like... how can that be a six again?

I'm guessing it was for that tackle... I probably would've turned it off if I saw, but instead I was doing a Munster with it on in the background... just like Vlando would want

Ref called held just before the 20m line and they pushed him back another 2m, then the ref called release while he was still standing and they took him to the ground.
This above is from the comments .
So basically ignoring the ref when called held . That`s a six again every , day . Context is a bitch eh ?

So while the backwards movement is already happening, and ref calls held, you expect them to just be able to stop and drop him at that instant, and ignore the laws of momentum?

The ref bought the shirt pull from JT, nothing more to it.

Also, if it was for the extended pushing back, the set restart would have been called much earlier, not after Elliott was deemed to have made another effort which was caused by JT pulling him down.

****ing conspiracy theorists

I think the rule is as soon as Reed M joined the tackle the ref should call held because Taumalolo was going backwards.

Moving tackled player 2. (a) Where opponents do not make a tackle effective in the quickest possible manner but attempt to push, pullor carry the player in possession, it is permissible for colleagues of the tackled player to lend their weight in order to avoid losing ground. Immediately this happens the Referee should call “Held”. It is not permissible for an attacking player to impede any defender

Does not say they are corrupt. It is worded that way to draw idiots into, you fell for it. I believe referees are dictating results too, because of that stupid 6 again rule. Not because of widespread corruption.

Reading comprehension is more important than ever.

Also what is a senior player? It could be somebody who plays for the Wagga Wagga c grade team.

Atkins didn't call held until they were in the process of taking Taumalolo to ground.

Even so, I don't think that's their interpretation. You can't have your prop go in upright get bent over backwards and have your dummy half 'lend' weight to win a quick play the ball.

The rule is there to stop the forwards from driving players all across the field. You get a bit of leeway but if Elliott was driving Taumalolo back say 10m and wasn't close to getting Jase to ground that's when the referee punishes the defence.

Dont shoot the messenger.
The rule is the rule. How its applied in different situations, your guess is as good as any but its certainly not consistent.
I thought Elliot was dominant and was stiff to get nicked as JT slowed him down from getting off.

The messenger may want to read their message again. The rule is filled with a bunch of interpretations and is not black and white.

Your interpretations Pete doesn't mean they are right.
The rule is clear

is permissible for colleagues of the tackled player to lend their weight in order to avoid losing ground. Immediately this happens the Referee should call “Held”.

I dont know how much more black and white you want.

Never the less my personal view it should have been play on.

That rule is never applied properly. They are allowed to lend their weight by helping their own player but the amount of times you see them trying to push the defender off their own guy is criminal. It’s a rule that is not policed properly, can’t remember the last time I saw a penalty given for that infringement though it happens all the time.

Agree. It's dumb.
They have a no peeling rule which should be penalised but The Riff do it constantly with impunity.

You skipped the main element.

Where opponents do not make a tackle effective in the quickest possible manner

That's all interpretation. How do the referees qualify that? Atkins certainly didn't apply that interpretation and it's seldom viewed that way in an instance like Sunday.

Again, it's not a black and white rule.
