One thing Macca did this game that I'd wish he'd get out of his game was the 40/20 attempt. I'm not saying he should never attempt them, but he needs to stop doing them when the ball is played on the 40 as he always crabs sideways a few metres for space before kicking awkwardly across his body for a 25 metre gain through the air. He's a much better long kicker when he's not thinking about the 40m line.

He also needs to draw and pass. He passed too early to Barba when he made that break.

100% agree, I actually shouted that at my screen when that happened. I was all excited to see Barba in open space but he made two steps before getting hit square by the fullback.

He also made a huge break off a dummy that got us heaps of metres and defended well. Also everyone said last year he didn't kick enough, so he's fixed that.

Just treat this comp the way it was intended to be treated .... a bit of fun.

If people are judging this season on this comp, then I guess they must think Parra are in with a good chance too.

I think what this does show is that Griffin either doesn't know anything besides Griffinball, or he believes it's by far the best tactic in every situation.

Remember that time we won half the games we have played today. Everyone's acting as though we've lost 50-nil in both games.

Remember that time griffin used stagg as a 5/8 in a 9's tournament when we are struggling to decide on a starting playmaker? The result doesn't shit me as much as griffins disgusting coaching decisions do. Thanks for your input though mate

But our season isn't over because of this. Gallen was playing first receiver for the sharks, Tamou was dummy half. I don't really think these teams have any idea what's going on and they just end up where they end up and play that position until they end up running off.

better than gillett or hunt grubbering the ball into the defenders legs haha..

but yeh the biggest issue for me is the coach. if we went to the comp to win it why is stagg and lowrie out there at the same time (as well as another 4 or 5 forwads). its just more of the same griffindor crap

It's funny cos macca just can't take a break.

Macca sees a great opportunity, kicks for it and just misses out.

If he was 2 metres further back it was a great idea. It was a very specific criticism I made - don't attempt 40/20s when you don't have the space because kicking across your body while facing the sideline is a low-percentage play. If Macca wants to make that attempt from the 35 metre line I have no issue.

If Macca wants to make that attempt from the 35 metre line I have no issue.

Low percentage plays are what's needed in this format of rugby league.

I know i'm late to the party, but I only just joined today.

That Fitler intercept in this match will forever haunt me as it is shown in countless replays, no doubt we'll see it a shitload more times on the footy show as well, which I just can't wait for....

Of all the people to score a shitty intercept try and have it made out to be so fucking amazing, why'd it have to be Fitler.
