CRICKET Australia v India Summer

Clear movement but couldn’t really see much on the snicko… is hotspot not a thing anymore?

But Hot Spot is not part of the official judicial DRS process mandated by the International Cricket Council and Fox Cricket boss Steve Crawley strongly backed the decision by the host broadcaster to dump the expensive and unreliable technology which is not used anywhere else in the world.

“No one else in the world uses it. And there was constant criticism of it,” Crawley told this masthead.

“On hot days it didn’t work. The whole bat and everything out there was hot.

“Originally it was a Channel 9 thing. We continued it because we had the deal with the company. No one else in the world was using it and we wanted to move on.

“It wasn’t universally accepted. No one else in the world was using it and it wasn’t part of the (ICC’s) judicial system which we paid for anyway.

“We chose to use our money in other ways because of the criticisms of it – the fact some days it worked and some days it didn’t. So we’ve moved on.”

Jokes aside he did almost exactly what I said he would.

Absolutely nothing... until Head created the opening and Boland gave us momentum, then Lyon was there to grab a consolation wicket or two and play it up for the cameras.

He was nearly celebrating by himself, lol.

Indian cricketers and their board are literally the worst sports on the planet ...

Lol at the Indian captain going against the whinging of their board as well.

Rohit Sharma said

“I don’t know what to make of that, because the technology didn’t show anything. But with the naked eye, it seemed that he did touch something,” Rohit said.

“So I don’t know how the umpires want to use the technology, but in all fairness, I think he did touch the ball.

“But again, it’s about the technology, which we all know, is not 100 per cent. But again, like I said, we don’t want to really look too much into that. It’s just that we are more often than not, we are the ones falling on the wrong side of it…I feel we’ve been little unfortunate.”

Warren Brennan, whose company BBG Sports operates Snicko, explained why there was no spike as the ball appeared to move past Yashasvi Jaiswal’s glove.

“That was one of the glance shots where there isn’t any noise so Snicko shows nothing only ambient noise,” Brennan told this masthead.

“I checked with the audio director and he said there was no noise either. Probably only Hot Spot could have resolved that one.”

That wicket of Reddy was huge though, to get him cheaply given what he has done all series was a very, very big moment.

How is Rohit a bad sport? He's 100% right and Cummins said the exact same thing.

“UltraEdge (an alternative provider to Snicko), I don’t think anyone has complete confidence in and (it) didn’t really show much. But fortunately, there’s enough other evidence to show it was clearly out.”

If Australia lose, I bet ball tracking would have come up in Cummins press conference.

They should never have used the snicko, it wasn't needed, and it just confused the situation.

There was conclusive proof with the deviation, they don't have to check every bit of technology if the eye test passes then they can stop there. Players and public seem to think everything has to show out to be out.

With the hitting the stumps, 50% of the ball was hitting leg stump but 50% was not below the line of the top of the stumps.

I don’t think there is any issue with the LBW being umpire’s call in its current state. The issue is that live, it looked plumb, far more so than Labushagne’s the day before. The issue is why the same on field umpire gives one out and the other not.

Because he’s human? And both were almost 50/50 ball hitting enough of the stumps or not

Joel Wilson had a howler yesterday and overall he’s a bad umpire. . He also has the highest percentage of dismissals overturned by DRS.

Different bowlers deliver the ball from different positions on the crease .Also each has a different trajectory . Then how is the pitch behaving in that period ? All factors .

Why was the Umpires changed after Brisbane? Don't they normally do the whole series?

They're changing again for Sydney, Wilson is on the TV role.

I couldn’t tell you but it’s odd. Joel Wilson has form on stitching the Aussies up as well.
