Since their first somewhat reluctant tour to India under Ian Johnson in 1956, Australia have played 47 Tests and won just 13 of them – a winning percentage of 27.66.
But of the five Tests they've played at Bengaluru (or Bangalore as the thriving commercial hub in the central southern state of Karnataka was known when the Australians first ventured there for a Test in 1979) that success ratio is 40 per cent.
Indeed, they have lost just once from five Tests at the cavernous Chinnaswamy Stadium (in 2010) and one prominent former Australia Test bowler yesterday suggested the ground was "the Lord's of India", invoking Australia's remarkable record at cricket's historic home in London where they have been defeated just twice in the past eight decades.

He's been loose and unprofessional too, he wouldn't have given up BBL to play club cricket in the past to prepare with the red ball.

Shortly after arriving home from Sri Lanka, the 32-year-old was at the centre of a drunken incident in a Manly nightspot and fined $10,000.
He later described it as the wake-up call he needed, swearing off alcohol for the summer and leaving nothing to chance in his preparation for India.
"I blew the chance in Sri Lanka and didn't do myself any favours when I got home; I carried on like a pork chop," O'Keefe told ABC Grandstand after his match-winning double of 6-35 and 6-35 that sealed the first Test inside three days.
"Missing out on the Big Bash was a big deal, it was something I wanted to do but I knew coming into a series like this, with the weather, conditions and workload, I had to make sure my body was 100 per cent ready to go because I couldn't let the team down again.

"If I did that, I knew it would be an absolute line through my name.
"So it meant sacrificing something at home that I wanted to play, but as it turned out it's a 1-0 start so I feel like that's sort of vindicated itself.

Getting India under 400 would be huge here but they still have a LOT of batting to come.
 
SOK gets Nair!!! Huge wicket, he got a triple ton last start. Saha in and the Aussies well on top.
 
It's hard to make any predictions until Australia bat. Let's not forget how brittle our batting can be at times.
 
lyon is bowling well but he is getting amazing back up in SOK who tying one end up, SOK is going for just 2 an over and has picked up a good wicket, im loving that the aussies dont care who is getting wickets instead just working together to get wickets
 
Rahul is showing this pitch is not a minefield if you apply yourself. Jadeja in, get in or Rahul and this will be over quickly.
 
i have always rated Jadeja as a bat but his stats say otherwise, what is everyone's thoughts on jadejas batting
