Zero concentration from Australia here.

I reckon yesterday in the field completely wrecked them... Starc looked completely spent before his last spell... and they've come out for this batting innings and have looked so far off the pace.

If they wrapped it up in 2 overs straight away they might've started better, but it took them another hour in the field and 50 runs to get 2 wickets.

I don't think the bowling from Windies has necessarily been doing anything... all the Windies wickets were caught behind the wicket, but Aus has been terrible LBW, Marnus forgetting that the Gabba bounces, Green spooning a 125km Raoch to cover and then Head getting strangled down leg.

Remind me again why we're playing two blokes who tested positive for Covid. If we're still admitting the virus is serious enough to go through a bunch of protocol hoops, how about calling up replacements? It's not like they're not gagging to prove themselves.

Carey is likely spent after keeping yesterday... so it will be interesting to see how long he can last.

I'd be telling Ussie to go T20 mode and get as many as possible, but I think it's actually more important to bowl as much at night as possible

I'm sick of the commentators talking about all the movement and the poor technique of Smudge acting like he hasn't been doing it his whole career and plundering runs at 60 average.

If they want to talk about it then compare what he's doing now to what he was doing in 2018 and tell us what has changed.

I think it was the beginning of last summer (late 2022?) when Smith tweaked his technique and went back to being quite still at the crease and staying more side-on in his shots.. he looked a million dollars for a few games before, for some reason, going back to moon dancing all over the crease..

Hopefully he gets back in the lab over the winter and can find a way to get himself sorted out.. it would be a shame to see him bow out of cricket on this trajectory

I think all of this does show that Australia needs to start transition now. The problem is, who are the transitioning to? Labs hasn't been good for quite some time now and Head is inconsistent, they are your batting linchpins. Green is the biggest concern for me, he is the shining light of gen next and just hasn't cut it at this level yet unfortunately and he is probably already a quarter career done.

Of course Khawaja is the best bat by a country mile in the Aussie line up at present but how long has he got left? Australia has to do something about this batting and I have no idea what. I wonder whether it might be worth giving Hardie a shot over Green at some point. That is about all I can think of...unless you take the biggest of all punts on Davies.
