CRICKET Australian tour of Pakistan

You can't really say those wickets were because the spinner bamboozled our batters, more about batter error than great bowling, the same thing you tend to say every time Lyon gets a wicket
I said nothing about Lyon. It was more a general comment that I wish we had spin options that took more wickets.

Don't you agree?

So the real questions are:

1. Does Swepson come in for the second test? If so, who for?
2. Does Carey keep his job?

Of course I do but that pitch.. fair dinkum’

No bowler was proving incredibly hard to bat against, a wrist spinner like Swepson would add some variation, much needed variation

2. Does Carey keep his job?
1. Yes - for Starc, he needs the break after playing basically every possible match in each format for however long.
2. Yes

I reckon you are right about Carey but surely he’s chances are running out if he keeps failing to make runs and more importantly, missing chances. His keeping has been appalling, Wade-like without the Wade-like runs.

They'll give him a few more chances, but if we lose badly next match and he's at fault for missed wickets then he might start to feel the pressure. I think this tour is too short to be making big decisions to typically long term positions.

Top 5 batters are sorted and Cam Green is locking down the no. 6... pace attack is sorted and Lyon isn't going anywhere.

Out of this tour we might get an idea of whether Sweepo is the genuine number 2 spinner, and that's probably about it when it comes to positions in and around the 11.

Replacing Carey after only a handful of matches is probably premature and it will be difficult for Inglis to prove his form sitting on the pine as the no. 2 wicket keeper and the shield season going on without him.

Jeez just saw the final day score.

When Australia resorts to throwing the ball to Khawaja, you know this is a fucked pitch

Absolute joke Pakistan produce that type of pitch, especially in their return to hosting. Surely they were just trying to make sure there was 5 full days of cricket, and they went a bit far.

Swepson in for Starc/H'wood is about the only change I'd make.

Marnus did a job .
There is our leggie .
Swap Hazelwood for Boland and Green for Agar . Then we have right and left arm finger spinners a leggie and a flat track specialist .
Hazelwood @ 130 KM is not the same as before injury .

I'm going to be controversial and say I'd go with:

1. Warner
2. Khawaja
3. Labushagne
4. Smith
5. Head
6. Green
7. Inglis
8. Cummins (c)
9. Boland
10. Lyon
11. Swepson
