It’s all the Heat’s own fault. Leaving Ross out of the first few games. Playing Labuschagne at all and not chasing 130 odd against the Stars at the MCG meant we relied on other results. We didn’t deserve to be in the finals. Our lack of application at the top of the order to start the season was disgraceful. Also poor list management is another reason for a poor season.

Yep. Hopefully the last few games put us on the right track next season though.

Unfortunately there have been false dawns before. 8 seasons and only 3 finals games to show for it are not good enough. We’re wasting Lynn in his prime, we’ve wasted Cutting’s prime. The roster needs a complete overhaul.

I agree, though there are some positives too. Bryant is a terrific find, Lalor has hit top form, we've gone for quality bowlers with Int picks... just gotta build on it, bat smarter and bowl smarter and stop picking numpties.

I really hope the season gets cut back. It just kept going and going and going and the quality was way down with grade cricketers making up some squads. It’s a school holiday thing and should only go the 6/7/8 weeks they last. Extend the shield season either side and everything will improve.
