"I think they've earnt (the minor premiership) this year more than any other year in that we played before three Origin games without nine and 10 players," he said.

"I don't think any team has ever done that, to actually play three games through Origin without that many players."

Let's see, 2000. The Broncos had to play before each of the 3 Origins without their players, and claimed the minor premiership by 6 points.

OK, so the Broncos didn't have 9 or 10 players out, but the quality of them can't be underrated, particularly as our first choice halfback, Kevin Walters, was injured through most of the series:

Game 1
Lockyer
Sailor
Tallis
Webcke
Thorn
Ikin
Carroll

Game 2
Lockyer
Tallis
Webcke
Thorn
Carroll

(Ikin and Sailor were injured)

Game 3
Lockyer
Sailor
Tallis
Webcke
Thorn
Ikin
Carroll

So Bellamy can go jump. He scraped in a minor premiership with that situation. Broncos romped it in.

Next.

Yeah, i had a little chuckle when i heard him say that in the press-conference.

In a way i'm kinda glad he's not coming up here to coach

Bellamy is a wanka I am so glad he isn't coaching up here.

"memory" is that what they're calling it these days?

Pissed myself when I heard him come out with this bullshit line.

The Broncos, on last count, had four minor premierships in the bag. We've done it with heavy origin commitments each time.

Bellamy has definetly shown some disturbing true colours in the last 2 seasons hasn't he!?

Is he still quitting as Origin coach because he lost?

We have had more players out in 1998 and 2001. I think it was eleven players out, and we killied it in 1998.

Yeah, but I think 1998 had split rounds - meaning the Broncos never had to play a game without their origin stars, just having to back up.

In 2001 they played Origin on Sunday nights with no NRL that weekend, so again, the Broncos didn't miss out on their players for any games.

That was Bellamy's point. However, that was the situation for the Broncos in 2000 and yet we were still THAT far ahead of the rest, despite long term injuries to Walters, Webcke, Ikin, Civoniceva (season ending), Meyers (season ending) etc.

Despite the Storm's Origin commitment, they haven't had ANY major injury concerns. So to consider their achievement better than the Broncos of 2000? Bah!

I can't think of a season in the last three years where the Storm have had heaps of injuries, like we did last year or the Raiders this year

The Storm have been blessed with no injuries to key players in at the very least 3 seasons. No doubt they currently have the best players in most positions but when was the last time they had season ending injuries to their half, hooker, 5/8 or hooker? Also when was the last time they had long term injuries to any of their players? I say GET THEIR FITTNESS GUY BECAUSE WE NEED HIM!!!

we do have Dean Benton coming back next year. in his year at the club (2006) we hardly had any injuries icon_thumbs_u

If melbourne got there fair share of injuries in the past 3 years, I bet they wouldn't of got the minor premiership 3 times.

LOLZ!!!!

Take cover there is a Storm coming....oh no wait; it's just Storm bashers!

They multiply this time of year Hammo! If we don't win I hope they piss it in.

Hah, I've been a Storm basher since around 2002 tbh.

I'd like you to point out where we're wrong in saying Bellamy is a tosser of the highest order regarding these comments, though.

Hehehehehehe, Salacious Crumb is going for the Storm. Hehehehehehe.

I am not defending him on these comments trust me, I just think people not just on here get a touch of the Tall Poppies when someone is clearly better than the people they are competing with.

Oh absolutely. Case in point. Chris Anderson. Circa 2001 saying in a column "The Broncos are so arrogant, everything about them". Well yes, we win premierships, that's why.

At the time he was coaching the Storm.

Honestly, my dislike of the Storm has stemmed back as far as 2000-2001. Yet I was cheering them on in last year's grand final.

Because no matter how evil Melbourne may be, nothing can replace the evil that is Manly. The deeds of that despicable pile of crap in the 1980s and 1990s can't be forgotten or forgiven.
